These have been in my drafts for forever! (Iโm talking since last September/October) I posted the sketches/WIPs a long time ago here but never ended up finishing all of them. I drew these before Silver and Amy were added to the AU so I didnโt have sketches for them to be able to even finish in the first place!
I still plan to return to these at some point but for now, here are the first two.
One thing I havenโt really talked about with the SCU monsters AU is that the characters go to school! Because the chaos emeralds donโt want to be found (and want the characters to actually work on themselves) it takes a long long time to find them. And in the meantime, the characters have to keep trying to live their lives and navigating their new ones.
The fact that theyโre aliens isnโt really a problem at school since everyone knows about them, but turning into monsters causes all kinds of new problems.
Tails craves blood and being surrounded by people makes it hard to deal with. He is also nocturnal and hates bright lights, which the school is full of.
He struggles with lunch most days. For a long time he refused to drink any blood and began having awful side effects from not having it. One side effect was hallucinations during cravings. During lunch period he began to see a lunch tray full of blood rather than the pizza that was actually on it
Knuckles quite literally is trying his best to keep himself together. His limbs fall off or are knocked off somewhat frequently despite Maddieโs best efforts to keep him in one piece. He can move his arms, legs, and tail when they fall off.
He has even forgotten limbs at home and gone to school without them. He will accidentally move that limb throughout the day which leads to Tom or Maddie finding it and having to bring it to him at school
Shadow needs water. Even on days where he has no problem keeping his legs instead of his tail, he still has to drink water constantly.
One day while walking down the hall, his tail decides to make an appearance. He ends up sprawled out on the ground and the inhibitor rings that were on his ankles go rolling down the hall. Without them teleporting hurts and has destructive effects on the area around him so he canโt just jump and go get them. He has to ask for help while heโs just stuck and completely humiliated.
Amy is terrified of messing up in both her classes and in her interactions with classmates. She doesnโt want them to think sheโs annoying or too much. This is problem if you have vines growing out of you that want to latch on to every surface they can reach. The more she stresses about it and thinks about what theyโre doing the more they grow and climb.
Silver fades in and out of existence in the middle of class. He will sometimes go invisible without realizing it which has led to him being marked absent multiple times while he was sitting right in front of the teacher.
He sometimes has trouble staying solid/corporeal and has days where he canโt even pick up a pencil and he just phases through objects around him.
Sonic has been going to school since he moved in with Tom and Maddie and has friends there that heโs know for a while now. After turning into a werewolf, he is pretty nervous to go back to school and for everyone see him. Heโs already been the odd one out since he started there and really is just hoping that adding โwerewolfโ to the list of things that make him different isnโt enough to make everyone hate him.
Thankfully, as soon as he shows up for his first period math class, one of his friends excitedly greets him and thinks itโs the coolest thing heโs ever seen.
Even if his human friends are still his friends, Sonic still struggles with some parts of school. Having an enhanced sense of smell and hearing is not ideal in a high school.

I sorta have them for my Local Cryptids AU and I donโt really need them for my Experimental Chaos AU so I guess they would really be for SCU Monsters
If I make them I could also use it as an excuse to break down exactly why each characterโs fears match the monster theyโve been turned into. Which is probably good to expand on at some point
And since they change more and more after each chaos emerald it could be good to draw out those changes for each stageโฆ..

Shadow thinks Sonic is the most beautiful thing heโs ever seen even when heโs half wolf and a shaggy fluffy mess. He loves Sonic and cares for him so much. Sonic is one of the only people he lets himself be vulnerable and soft around.
Sonic loved his boyfriend. He thinks heโs the coolest most badass hedgehog he has ever met. As much as he loves racing and sparring with him, some of Sonicโs favorite moments with Shadow are when the two of them just hang out and cuddle together.
Because they got together after they were turned into monsters, they had to sort out the ins and outs of a new relationship while also being stuck in bodies that didnโt exactly feel like them. Shadow in particular thought he should avoid physical contact with Sonic because he thought he would be repulsed. Shadow is half fish and Sonic is scared of the water so in why on Earth would he want to be anywhere close to him. Sonic on the other hand was very forward with what he was thinking and displayed his affection.
Can he communicate his feelings towards himself or anything about how he feels after turning into a werewolf? Nope! But he has zero problems telling his boyfriend how much he likes him or physically showing it through hugs, handholding, cuddling, or just leaning against him whenever he least expects it

The Losers AU:
A Swap AU based in the game Sonic Unleashed where Shadow swaps with Sonic and Dark Gaia swaps with Chip.
Sonic fails to rise to the occasion and stop Eggman's brigade of air fleets that surround the Earth, so Shadow, the ultimate lifeform, takes his place, collecting the seven Chaos Emeralds and fighting Eggman among the stars. However, things take a wrong turn when Shadow finds himself stripped of the Chaos Emeralds power and hooked to a machine, used to fire a laser of energy into the Earth and wake up a eldritch entity that had been sleeping within the core of the Earth. Before the ultimate life form could comprehend what had happened, Eggman cast him down to the Earth.
The impact didn't knock him out or kill him, and when Shadow got up, he finds that his form had been changed into something unique, alien, andโฆeuphoric? A lizard-hedgehog thing? A hedgizard? He doesn't get time to think about it as almost immediately after he encounters a amnesia-hit creature who's feisty nature immediately puts her at odds with Shadow, but he has no other choice but to take her under his wing because of G.U.N. trying to hunt down the 'thing' that had crashed through Empire City like a falling meteorite.
Shadow joins forces with Team Dark as well as the mysterious 'Swing', having named herself after her favorite style of Jazz, to travel the globe and discover the locations of the ancient Gaia Temples, where the Chaos Emeralds had tied themselves to. Their goal? Take the Chaos Emeralds out of the temples and prevent the overbearing entity of daytime and light from causing the Earth to collapse into its core.
SCU Monster AU:
After the eclipse cannon incident the chaos emeralds were scattered across the planet. In the process of hunting them down, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, and Silver were turned into monsters. Now, they must finding the missing chaos emeralds to reform the master emerald and use its power to turn them back to normal. In the meantime, the six of them live in Green Hills, Montana and are doing their best to adjust to life as a werehog, a vampire, a zombie, a sea monster, a carnivorous plant, and a ghost.
After turning into monsters, all of them have to make changes and adjust while they sort out changing back. Shadow only has a fishtail some of the time but when he does, his options for where to stay are pretty limited. Stone sets up a large open top fish tank for him. Shadow does not like having to stay in it and on bad days it reminds him of the stasis tank.
Since Tails is a vampire, he doesnโt do too well in the sun so now every window in the Wachowski house has blackout curtains. And for good measure, he set up a ring of them around his bed like a shower curtain. It kind of makes him feel isolated
Silver has been living with Wade and Amy. Wade has been great so far and even if he is a ghost and is completely out of depth and thinks he already failed his mission/reason for time traveling in the first place, anything is better than the apocalypse he came from

Maria helped him with these feelings and showed him that he could be loved and accepted but after her death, he blamed himself and began to think the was wrong. All he will ever be is a destructive repulsive monster.
Sonicโs decade long isolation made him stop feeling like he was a real person. He was all alone on an alien planet where the closest thing to his species was an animal that is kept as a pet. He stayed hidden from people and lived in a cave in the woods like a feral animal. At times he felt like he was a wild feral thing and wasnโt actually a person who deserved to have connections with others. He even if he could talk and run and was just as smart as any human, maybe he wasnโt really a person. Maybe, after so many years of watching them, he was just really good at pretending to be like them. And too stupid to know he was pretending.
Even after meeting others from their home planet, they both still struggle with these feelings. Both of them grew up on Earth surrounded by humans and in extremely stressful environments. Feelings like that arenโt going to immediately go away.
The two of them begin to realize their feelings towards each other not long after Shadow arrives in Green Hills. When they turn into monsters and Sonic realizes that itโs going to be a long time before things go back to normal and theyโre really stuck like this for god knows how long, he decides to take a chance. He confesses his feelings while theyโre having a movie night together. Shadow is thrilled.
They help prove to each other that they are capable of being loved and being a person worthy of that love no matter what shape theyโre in.
Stone, Tom, and Maddie are all just happy that Sonic and Shadow make each other happy.
