Welcome back, everybody, to another trip between worlds. Thank you all again for your support, it's been rough having to rebuild everything from scratch, but I'm glad to say that 100 of you have found your way back! Perhaps as we travel across dimensions, we'll run into more familiar faces?

Yup! Starline gets to be more of a long lasting problem in this story (he gets involved a lot in the Riders' plots specifically) and this by extension includes Surge.

She and Kit are created to be physically on par with Sonic and Tails, but also tailor made to resonate with the public. They're racers.

When Sonic and his team suspect Starline's involvement behind the scenes during a major racing event, Surge and Kit are there to make their journey harder.

And then they've got their own issues like they did in the comics. Being cyborgs who don't know how they were made, having to deal with abuse and hypnotism, etc.

Clutch is also involved in the bs btw. In case you were wondering ^^

HELLOOO! :D I love your art! How's my fave Metal Sonic doing in this AU?

Uhh... evilly??? I think he's like, the one Sonic look-alike robot I don't want to redeem in this. Just because there are sooooo many others. Shard, Hip, Mecha Mk II, not to mention ones like Gemerl and Omega that I have to include. I know it kind of sucks but I don't want to overdo the "redeemed robot" trope.

(though the story I made up for Mecha Mk III/Hip was originally going to be for Metal Sonic. Robotnik using him as fodder while testing the Phantom Ruby, and allowing Infinite to essentially tear him apart. He later escapes and shows up in Mighty's hometown, gets taken in and fixed, and joins their defense squad as the war begins)

Plus he's a stubborn guy, like Sonic is. I think he'd stick to that desperate need to prove himself, no matter what. Even after Robotnik goes missing post Forces and fully commits to his new life as Mr. Tinker, I think he still wouldn't break down and accept it. He'd insist on carrying on the Empire.

As for like, normal rewritten plot stuff relating to him, uhhh. He's the reason that Mighty's arm is gone. Honestly still workshopping the rest of the stuff relating to him, sorryyy.

The Seedrians aren't under the threat of the Metarex in this AU, at least not before Sonic gets to meet them. They have the same sexual dimorphism that they do in X, and they have the ability to grow plant life. They're peaceful, and refuse to fight unless it's extremely necessary. They have a ongoing friendly relationship with the Bem.

Cosmo is not a Seedrian in this AU -- she is a Gaian. The last pure Gaian, as all the others have sacrificed themselves or have permanently taken on a different form. She lives on Little Planet, which endlessly travels the galaxy in search of Gaia's Comet.

Someone's Waiting for You

When Sonic's attempt to sacrifice himself for the sake of the Shatterverse is interrupted, he doesn't leave Nine's side. This small decision changes everything. The Grim doesn't turn into a battlefield, and with the help of two other twin-tailed foxes—Sonic manages to convince Nine to return with him to Green Hill.

In no time at all, Nine is forcibly adopted as the youngest brother to Sonic and Tails. It's a drastic change, but in the relative safety of this new dimension, Nine finally has the chance to heal and live; not just survive. His brothers and their many friends (seriously, too many if you ask Nine) are there to help.

Items & Mechanics

Throughout Sonic Icebound, Sonic has a number of items and mechanics which he can use to his advantage. Some of these are in his possession at the start of the game, while others are collected throughout Sonic's journey. Below are just some of the items and mechanics Sonic can use.

Headlight: Sonic will use this almost constantly as the sun does not rise. Best used for finding paths, major landmarks, and remains of man-made structures.

Radio transceiver: Sonic’s only lifeline; Tails can give Sonic concise directions to the evacuation site, but time constraints force Sonic to ration his own use of the device.

Map: Empty at the start of the game, Sonic will gradually begin marking major geographical features on it as he encounters them; these features also serve as save points for the player.

Homing attack: Sonic can attack in rapid succession to climb obstacles, reach hidden paths, or break through thin ice and snow.

Sprinting: Can be useful for getting Sonic across large chunks of relatively flat terrain. Sprinting increases the probability of getting injured.

Crouching: Sonic can crouch and then walk to move through spaces he wouldn’t be able to pass while standing up. This is occasionally required at certain points in order to keep Sonic warm.

Going prone: In some places, Sonic must go prone to crawl through extremely tight, narrow spaces. No tools can be used while Sonic is prone, including his headlight.

First-aid kit: Found in abandoned outposts. Sonic may use these to heal himself quicker but cannot be used if Sonic is in a heightened state of fear (most notably during boss fights, quick-time events, or after seeing an apparition).

VERY excited for Warped Perspective to be in @sonic-au-collision-zone! Now that Eclipse and Shadow have been Released, they along with other to-be-listed characters can be asked anything, or you can just interact with them in general! Fair warning, though, things are not going too well at the moment...

Sonic's Gameplay

Sonic Icebound is a psychological survival horror game with action and platforming elements. It is played primarily from the first-person perspective by default, though the player has the option to switch to third-person. At the beginning of the game, Sonic’s map is only marked with his location at the South Pole and the location of the evacuation site. He has 72 in-game hours (roughly eight hours in real time) to reach the site before Tails arrives there. A small circular zone surrounding Sonic’s initial spawn point serves as a tutorial for the player to get used to the controls and mechanics.

Unlike other Sonic games, rings are not used as health or energy. Instead, Sonic has a fixed health meter; he can heal himself passively over time but the rate of replenishing is slow. Alternatively, first-aid kits can be found in some man-made structural remains and heal Sonic faster (Sonic may also find an unused disposable syringe in the kit that he can use independent of the rest of the kit). There is an increased chance of injury when some actions (e.g. sprinting) are performed. Sonic dies if the health meter reaches zero, resulting in a game over; the player is sent back to their most recent save point (or to the start of the game if no save point had been reached prior to death).

Throughout the game, Sonic’s intense survival mentality makes him an unreliable narrator; among other things, he often hears sounds which have no traceable source and are of an indiscernible nature, and the pitch-black night gradually increases his anxiety, thinking he sees hostile entities in his peripheral vision where there may be none. Nonetheless, there are dangers that threaten Sonic. They are mainly geological hazards, such as deep sub-glacial lakes covered with snow and/or thin sheets of ice or tall mountains with unforgiving terrain. Some hazards are meteorological, such as sudden inclement weather. If Sonic’s health meter is less than half-full, he will descend into a fear state in which he will not be able to use the first-aid kits, syringes, or radio. He will be given greater acceleration during the time he is in this fear state, at the sacrifice of reduced attack power and increased risk of injury. Although rings cannot be normally used to replenish Sonic’s health, collecting 15 rings will bring Sonic out of the fear state.

Hi guys!!! I got The Losers AU into the @sonic-au-collision-zone !!! You know what that means...IN CHARACTER ASKS ARE OPEN!!!!!!!! You can ask any of the main cast in The Losers AU, which include Shadow, Rouge, OMEGA, Swing, and Light Gaia. You can ask The Losers/Team Dark questions together or as individuals, or just everyone, or just whatever. As for where this takes place in the timeline, it depends on the question. I'll randomly decide where the question takes place, and it'll affect the characters' relationships to each other and themselves and the world.
