The annual clone-centric exchange will run under the @clonewarspx account now, given that the Clone Wars Saved era is somewhat behind us. All the collections will remain bundled together here on Ao3!

Thank you to everyone who participated! It’s been a pleasure to mod and to see such a great mix of fic and art.
There will be another summer clone-centric exchange next year -- perhaps with an emphasis on the bad in The Bad Batch? 💀💡Who knows ... !

Please have your assignments posted to the Collection by 11:59PM (EDT). Some extensions have already been granted.
Works will remain hidden until Reveals next Monday (10th), but you will be able to access your work in your Assignments tab on Ao3 or in your Stats page. As long as you have something that can stand on its own in the Collection tonight, feel free to keep poking at your work it till next week.

Yes!! Treats can be submitted up to 8:00 AM (EDT) on Monday, August 17th. Creators will be revealed at this time and the collection closed : )

Reminder

If you feel you will not be able to finish your assignment, please default by tomorrow (Sunday, 19 July) to allow the mod time to find a pinch-hitter. You can find the default button by clicking on your assignment in the ‘My Assignments’ tab on Ao3.
Last-minute extensions can be requested, too, but remember that works will go live on August 10th.

Assignments Sent!
Matching has finished and assignments have been sent out. All participants should receive an e-mail with their recipient and assignment details, but you can also find this under the Assignments tab in the lefthand sidebar on your AO3 dash.
Please make sure any external letters are unlocked and accessible to your creator. If you did not include DNWs in your sign-up, the mod may contact you to request that you specify these.
The spreadsheet has been updated with everyone’s requests for easy viewing.

Sith happens, and if you feel you will not be able to complete your assignment by August 3rd, please let the mod know by July 19th so that a pinch hitter for your recipient can be found in good time. Defaulting after this time doesn’t carry any punishment except bad juju from the mod who will be scrambling to make sure no one is left without a gift.
The Clone Wars Saved 2020 Collection is now open, so you can begin submitting works whenever you please; the mod will check for DNWs and skim for spelling/grammar (this isn’t a proofread; if you need a dedicated beta, just shout!). Assignments are due on 3 August, but treats can be added up to 17 August. All works will be “hidden” as Mystery Works until August 10, when the works will be revealed (creators remain anonymous until 17 August).

So begins the novelization of Revenge of the Sith. But fanworks are a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural – like the ability to change a angst-ridden final act into a happily-ever-after!
The 2020 Clone Wars Saved Exchange is a chance to commemorate and celebrate the clone troopers across all Star Wars media since their appearance in 2002, through both fanfic and fanart.
Tag nominations will open next Saturday, 23 May, 08:00 EST, with sign-ups running from Saturday, 30 May to Friday, 5 June on the AO3 collection here.

Nomination Requirements:
Clone characters from across the Star Wars universe are welcome. This includes Legends, video games, Dark Horse comics, Rebels, &c.
Crossovers outside Star Wars are not allowed. As long as the nomination includes at least one or more clone character(s) from any Canon or Legends material, it’s acceptable for the exchange. If you want Sev from RepComm to adopt Jyn Erso, then go for it.
Original Clone Characters (OCCs) cannot be nominated, but they will be welcome in works.
Although this is a Clone Wars centric exchange, please only nominate characters under the Star Wars – All Media Types fandom tag. The mod will organize characters and pairings by subfandom (e.g. Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: Legends).
For the purposes of this exchange, Boba Fett will not be considered a clone.
Sign-Up Requirements
You must have an AO3 account to participate.
You will be able to request between 3 and 10 clone characters/relationships from the tag set. Please only request clone characters for whom you’d like to receive a gift. You must request three at the minimum. Please specify whether you would like to receive fic or art. If no offers match your request, you will be contacted by the mod to see if you’d like to add requests to make you matchable.
You will be able to offer between 4 and 10 relationships from the tag set. Please only offer clone characters and relationships for which you are willing to create content. Please specify whether you would like to offer fic or art or both. If nothing you offer matches any requests made, the mod will contact you to see if you can add offers to your sign-up.
This is a clone-centric exchange. The content created should include the clone character(s) matched on in some way. Jedi, Sith, Senators, OCs, &c. are all welcome, but the primary focus should be on the troopers.
There will be a section in sign-ups for optional details and letters if you have them. It is very helpful to give creators an idea of what you like, but more importantly what you Do Not Want (DNW). These must be included in the AO3 sign-up; DNWs listed in external letters but not on AO3 may slip through.
Assignments
You are only guaranteed to match on one clone character and one creative medium.
Please be judicious about where you chat about your assignment; your recipient may be sharing that space with you and this is an anonymous exchange for the first week. No spoilers, please.
If your assignment doesn’t match your sign-up, please contact the mod as soon as possible.
Gift Requirements
Gift works must respect the recipients’ DNWs. If a DNW is included, the creator’s work will not be published and the creator will be removed from the exchange.
Completed fic assignments must be at least 1000 words created specifically for the recipient and must include at least one of their requested characters and/or relationships.
Completed art assignments must be an original piece created by the artist in traditional or digital mediums. At the very least, it should include detailed line art and may not be drawn on lined paper. The minimum acceptable size is 1000 x 1000 pixels. It should include at least one of the recipient’s requested clone characters.
Posting
Fics and art must be posted on AO3 in the Clone Wars Saved 2020 collection.
Fic entries with excessive spelling and grammar errors will be rejected. Contact the mod if you need beta help and they will put the word out.
Obviously, as this is an anon exchange please don’t post your work (including snippets) elsewhere before reveals.
Pinch Hits
Pinch hits will be posted here.
If you’d like to claim a pinch hit, message the mod with your AO3 name.
Treats
Treats are welcome, but should fill a stated request for the recipient.
Treats must also respect any Do Not Wants.
There are no minimum requirements for treats (e.g. a fic of 700 words is acceptable).
Please tag all treats as “Clone Wars Saved Treat.“
Treats may go into the main collection.
Code of Behavior
Please acknowledge (ideally with a comment) on your gift – even if you defaulted.
Default early if you know you will be unable to complete your assignment. The mod then doesn’t have to scramble for last minute pinch hitters.

This is supposed to be a fun low-key celebration of the clone troopers and Star Wars as a whole. This is not a place for kinkshaming, ship wars, militant moral policing, etc. Thank you!

What exactly are treats?
Treats are gifts made for participants in the exchange other than your assigned recipient.
Let’s say you matched on “Commander Bly & None”: you would need to complete your fanart/fanfic for that assignment (as per the 1000 words/1000x1000 pixel rules), but if another participant requested “Commander Ponds & Mace Windu” with a compelling prompt and you were itching to create something for them too, you are perfectly free to do so! The resulting fanwork is considered a treat, and it would go into the Collection with all the other works.
Treats do not have to comply the 1000 words/1000x1000 pixel minimum, but they MUST adhere to your treated recipient’s DNWs. (i.e. If the person who requested “Commander Ponds & Mace Windu” had a DNW for Character Death, and you wanted to write a tragic story where they both die, you could not treat that person.)
There are no limits to the number of treats you can create, nor is it expected that you treat anyone, or that you will be treated in return. It’s just a fun bonus in exchanges. This exchange actively encourages treating, and there will be a column in the spreadsheet which shows who has received treats, so treatless participants may be found and treated : )

Hi there, I'm thinking about signing up for the exchange for the first time, and I'm a little unclear about what letters are supposed to be for exactly.
Hi! It’d be great to have you participate.
The “Letter” box is optional. This is where you can put a link to an externally-hosted letter to the person who gets assigned to you, with much greater detail about what really excites you about certain characters/relationships, prompts, and what you’d prefer to avoid in your gift. These are typically hosted on Dreamwidth or tumblr. Folks who participate in many exchanges will often just keep all their exchange likes/dislikes in a letter and link back to it, rather than filling out the “Description” box each time they sign up (they were also standard before Ao3 introduced an exchange system).
You don’t need to link to a Letter. You do need to include any Do Not Wants in the “Description” box.

maybe it's a silly question but, if i'm ok to receive even NSFW works (i'm open to pretty to anything) but i can't write sex or anything past flirting or anything like that, how can i specify it? (in other words, i tried, i'm not that good, if the other person wants it, i can try, but it would be pretty much romantic and with major feelings)
Hi there!
You are not obliged to create anything you aren’t comfortable with. Whomever you are matched with on a specific character/relationship may request explicit content, but the only thing you have to adhere to is what they <b>do not</b> want -- and even if they include “gen fic” or “fluff” as a DNW (rare, but it happens), you still aren’t compelled to create something explicit.
While it is not possible to include detail on what you will not create, as it makes matching extremely complicated, most people go into exchanges understanding that there is an anxiety to creating content for someone (especially someone you might not know in the fandom) and respond to gifts in good faith : )
