Road trip!! On a whim, a couple of friends and I decided to take the short 1.5 hour drive from LA to see the poppies at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. There were gorgeous orange blooms galore and we ambled happily along the trails, enjoying peering at the different wildflower species as well as the critters that call this part of the Mojave Desert grasslands home.

Come check out Bear Cat's Pop-up Shop this Saturday from 11-7 for Cloud Cloud items + other local designers + great vintage finds! See you there!
Bear Cat is located in Echo Park at 1532 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles. Also check out their website!
Finally read Joan Didion's Play It As It Lays and it's nothing short of amazing. She has such an evocative way with capturing imagery and feeling with her words, like the passage above about the main character Maria's getaway to Vegas. It's heady, heavy prose full of ennui, sadness, and so much beauty. Here's a great link I found to her essays and here to more photos of the author.
Love this look! Here's a quick tutorial courtesy of Chalkboard Mag and Woodley & Bunny. Can't wait to try it out this Friday for the El Vez concert!
The Armory’s Consulting Artistic Director Kristy Edmunds responded to the event of a thread with a question: “How to be within a poem and the recipient of its gift in one swing?”
Do you have an answer? Or is the beauty in the asking?
It's Christo + fun at the playground.
How did I not know about this site til now?
What a busy weekend! In addition to the opening of the KK Gallery pop-up, I attended the Unique LA holiday show Sunday afternoon to support friends who were participating and check out all the goodies available. The show was this Saturday and Sunday at the Calmart in DTLA taking up the whole of floor lucky #13. Jam-packed with people, it was a vibrant and eclectic market showcasing local indie labels, designers, artisans, and makers, and was also chock full of good eats. With my complimentary Prosecco drink in hand, I stuffed free treats from sponsors of the show in my free tote bag while admiring many things- designer huaraches, terrarium ornaments, clocks made from the books of Dr. Seuss, dog teepees, just to name a few. My boyfriend even found an old album cover of his brother's band-turned-character invaded wall art.

Photos from this past Saturday night's opening of KK Gallery's EASTXWEST pop-up shop. The attendance of fellow designers, friends, and art and design lovers was impressive as it was a rare rainy night in the City of Angels. Am flattered to have my work included among such talented local designers, including friends Jill Aiko Yee and wrk-shp! The shop will be open til January 12.
