“The funniest thing about that joke was the ‘and everything’ part, more than one trick sounds ridiculous,” she told. “My shift ends in an hour, you have plans after that?” she asked.

“On the bright side, they may be rude but at least they’re also stupid.”

Topher raised his eyebrow at the girl’s question. “What does one typically go to a bar for?” He asked, running his fingers through his hair. “Whiskey…. neat.”
“Just making sure you were here to haunt us or anything,” she said before pouring his drink.

Jack scrunched up his nose. “It smells yucky anyway. Can I have a Shirley temple though?” He gave her another quick hug before sitting down on his bottom. “Yeah of course! I can have a sleepover with you and Dustin!!”
“Never change, small thing,” Clove said going off to grab the boy his order before handing it over. “And a sleepover sounds like a nice idea.”

“I was trying to be polite– shouldn’t those be appreciated?”
“I guess so, just not used to it with all the brutes in here.”

Jax put a hand to his heart, faking being touched. “I think that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me, Parker.” He then offered a shrug, reaching for the drink now in front of him and taking a sip. “What haven’t I done is the real question.”
“Then I’m probably lying,” she joked. “Been the good little boy you were raised to be I’d assume?” she shrugged.

“Please, they barely come out here– they’ll never find me.” Jax laughed, shaking his head a bit. “And when they do, I’ll be too drunk to listen to them. Ah yes, speaking of you working here, I’ll take a jack and coke.”
“You’re a little bitch, you know that?” she asked moving away for a second to grab his drink. “What have they done now?” she asked when she returned.

Jack looked up at Clove and grinned, sitting on his knees so he could hug her across the bar. “My mom wanted to come get a drink on the way home and I didn’t want to go home alone,” He explained.
“I’d get you one too if it wasn’t a perfect way to lose my job. You coming over soon?” she asked lovingly.

“Hiding from my parents.” Jax offered as explanation before joking with Clove. “I could ask you the same thing.”
“Wow, it’s smart of you to come to the bar they own then,” she said sarcastically. “and I get paid to be here, you know that,” she added.

“Can’t a girl come here and get her lovely friend to get her a drink?” Ava teased.
“Ah, well I mean doesn’t have to be a friend when it’s my job does it?”
“What are you doing here?” Clove said leaning across the bar and putting her tray of shot glasses down. (could be a friend or a famous person she’s trying to talk up)
