I was explaining the way cats are named in warrior cats to some non-wc fans because of that wc name generator wheel post going around and I said that 99% of cats do not get their name fully planned in advance because different people provide the prefix and suffix at vastly different times of the cat’s life, and the other 1% is mostly parents naming their kids after a super obvious physical feature such that the leader would be remiss not to go along with it (you name your kit Longkit for his long tail and so like what else is the leader going to call him). And then I realized Jayfeather is in that other 1%

At this point, Leafpool didn’t know she would get to mentor him and therefore name him what she wanted. She didn’t know about his special spiritual abilities because he’s a weeks-old baby. She didn’t even know he was blind yet. She also didn’t know about his super special destiny that would totally shape his mind, his personality, his life. And still, she had a vision of what his name should be when he grows up. He’s doomed to a life of predetermination literally the moment he opens his eyes

Bristlepaw feels like she should have so much more going for her. She seems mature in how she presents herself but I haven't even finished the chapter and I'm feeling like making a stemleaf mooning counter. This is the first pov we're reading from her and the chapter starts with her thinking how she needs to impress him. Honey you are so much more valuable than that please do it for you, not for his gaze

He better end up double crossing and causing a whole prophecy to come to fruition. He better be like a dark forest reincarnate at worst or have a side chick in another clan at best.

If they become a solid long-term relationship this is going to get a little annoying

Exhausted all night reading warrior cats but i just read ch 13 of chasing shadows and it pissed me off so bad i had to stop reading but i cant stop thinking about it. truly one of the most horric chapters of modern warriors ive ever read... the writing team is so addicted to white knighting brambleclaw its legit hard to read i actually cant stand how they just gloss over any possible bad he couldve done, no, never a bad word spoken about the golden boy not even any conflicting feelings from anyone just squirrelstar expressing how sorry she was for how badly she treated him uwu!!! absolutely insulting to the fanbase no clue how any of this got through the first draft ... especially infuriating compared to leafpools horrific treatment at her own funeral. And an insult to anyone who read squirrelflight's hope as if any of that shit can just be swept under the rug with a "i didnt love him enough" from squirrelstar UGH absolutely infuriating!!!! Good fucking riddance now please keep him out of the plot forever thank you very much. Disgusting little cat deserved to rot in hell

I don't know if anyone remembers this happened !! Adderfang vs Mudfur's fight for the sunning rocks was my faaavorite scene in bluestar's prophecy !! I've always had trouble to visualize how adderfang looked like, so I made him a subtle torbie so he could pass down his genes to spottedleaf and redtail !! The wiki design is weird ahah.
