Might I ask why you draw Bristlefrost with antler markings? It’s very thought provoking and really cool but I’m not quite a symbolism person, and you’re kind of the Bristlefrost expert around these parts.

thank you for asking !! ill be honest its pretty surface level symbolism tbh... its literally entirely because of the scene at the end of ivypool's heart where ivy sees a stag that reminds her of bristlefrost. also because i like deer and ive been comparing bristlefrost to the likes of a deer for a while now just like for laughs. im sure theres probably a deeper read into what it could symbolize though if you try hard enough 🌸🌸

ive said something very close to this before but since ive seen a few people talking about tigerheart: i think i struggle to entirely come around to the idea of dovetiger being an unhealthy and coercive relationship because of the way it diminishes ivypool and dovewings characters. i must preface this by saying that this is very much just my own opinion and everyone is obviously entitled to their own interpretations but i so often see fanworks that portray tigerheart as a groomer implying (wether directly or accidentally) that ivypool was right to be wary of him and is thus is right to be overprotective and controlling of her sister and that dovewing was wrong to leave thunderclan. i dont think this is necessarily always peoples intention and i think its kind of unavoidable considering the nature of their relationship but giving ivypool a "justified" reason to hate tigerheart just does not work as well for me as a story.

similarly i find it hard to really condemn the interpretation either because as much as dovetiger is very much not intended to be read as predatory the erins fumble their way into writing abusive relationships constantly so i cant really blame people for having the least charitable view possible here. i understand the appeal of dovewing looking for comfort and freedom in her life and accidentally putting herself in a dangerous situation, similarly to how her sister does. i know that ivypool being xenophobic is not a unique enough character trait for people to prioritize it over their own opinions on tigerdove. i need to reread OOTS, but from my perspective i do not think there is a correct way to read their relationship- not because i think its ambiguous in canon (i actually think that, from my remembering, its one of the more well executed and inoffensive relationships in the main series at least) but because i understand why people dont particularly care to uphold the "good intentions" of the authors regardless of how much textual evidence there is for something. i mean i do that shit all the time! so i guess what i mean to say is that i dont have a problem with the portrayal itself as much as i do with people treating it as word-of-law because i dont find it comparable to say, brambleclaw being abusive as far as incidents of "erins accidentally writing a bad relationship" goes. Im not sure where I was going with this
