Eyo nerds, I'm like, mighty broke and still jobless, so I will draw 4 food. Not very familiar how the whole comissions thing works but imma do it cheap, something like 5 to 10 bucks max. DM me if ur interested.
My pf2e character for an upcoming campaign. Caroline Vanderboom, a thaumaturge who is extremely scared of ghosts and ghouls.
casual survey: reblog if you want to kiss a girl right now
bruh last campaign was so bad i don't think i could dm again
Pyreslide idland is a large size island on the north ezstern coast of the pontifirma, within the holy bassin. Despite its location in the most remote parts of the archipelago, it enjoys relatively frequent visits from clergy-approved vessels for trade supplies.
Long ago, the island was home to a diverse ecosystem and local humanoid population, tho after Hixspike, the eastern volcano of the Pontifirma became extinct and its hot spot seemed to disappear, Hix commanded her followers to create a new point of entry into the elemental plane of fire.
The priests of Hix settled on the island that would become Pyreslide island, scorching its land, chocking itd dky with smoke, and opening large gashes into its ground to make the magma underneath surface, all in order to create an everburning, through physical and magical means and with very little care for the local population, medium that would serve as great source of firepower for their reptilian goddess, as well as quick access to the elemental plane of fire for her.
Today, Pireslide island has cooled down but is still very much on fire, a few settlments exist to gather ressources unique to its environement, thr largests being Ceniza, a port town where all the trade happens, known for its like church of Hix, saif to be sculpted out of a single enourmous block of obsidian.
Deeper into the island, "Paraiso" can be found on the shores of the deepest lava lake. Above ground, it looks like an unassuming village with a lot of efforts put into insulating it from the heat, but underground, you will find the crown jewel of engineering that is the Pyreslide forge. Few people live in paraiso, and those who do were trained from a young age to brave its heat and use its forge. The lava lake grants it access to ridiculously high temperatures, but also to rare and powerful minerals used in the creation of custom made weapons. Most of the weapons made there are ceremonial, sold at a high price to foreign nobility for them to show off their money and status. But in rare occasions, the church itself will comission a blade, usually as a reward to a particularly effective knight or inquisitor. These weapons not only emit the same constant heat as the regular ones, they also shine an orange hue and set ablaze anything that isnt their specially made scabbards.
Smiths in Paraiso are greatly supersticious, as they all inexplicably become aware of the cost of having an island in such a state, those who dared speak of it said that the lava whisperd the history of the place, and that if you listen carefuly to its bubbling, you can hear the screams of those burned alive in the transformation of the island. As such, Paraiso has a very penitant and shameful air to it.
Strongly considering making homebrew "lightning" and "shadow" kineticist wtf am i doing i have exams
i'm sorry, making OCs requires a level of self indulgence i'm just not capable of mustering,
what do you MEAN the players won't engage with the world if there is no world
Every day i am reminded worldbuilding is not optional and every day I regret ever writing anything
My players arent ready for the affini compact pulling up on them in a few session
(this is about "official", wotc approved subclasses, not your homebrew, im sure your homebrew's great)
I think i managed to articulate why i don't like subclasses who's features are just a list of perks you can pick from.
I feel like it betrays a lack of trust in subclass concept, like instead of making abilities that work together and work with the base class, you just give the player a bag of random abilties you think they should maybe have access to, and the player figures it out and makes their own theme.
Same with subclasses that just give the character a pool of interchangable points to spend on loosely thematically related abilities. It feels tacked on.
Now, there are list subclasses that work, like the battlemaster, which fits very well with the fighter, it fits so well cause it was supposed to be a base fighter feature not a subclass, but it fits. I also count the subclasses that give non casters spellcasting as a list subclass, the list is just spells.
Same with the points subclass, even if its a bit complicated, the runechild works.
But then you got shit like the 4 elements monk who gets really upset when you use its abilities and gives the 4th element at level 14, and doughnut speak to me about celestial warlock
shout out to totem warrior barbarian for being the silliest list subclass by accident, only hampered by the fact there is an obvious "correct" option
something something if you disagree, you are objectively wrong for i alone contain 5he truth or smthg
trying to make this account slowly come back to life, i'can't even look at homebrew, will probably just dump worldbuilding ideas
pausing the self loathing spiral on my main to work on worldbuilding for my campaign since I need shit prepared for next week.
Little background: theyre a bunch of terrible selfish ppl who are on a quest to maybe save the world theyre not sure yet rn theyre just going around gathering mystical artifacts to spite one of the player's dad, the main bad guy.
Since their collective blood pressure is -1, i gave them a time limit of one of the characters getting Ring'd (he will die in 7 days), some devil contract he elected to forget about.
After deliberation, they collectively elected to not do anything about it and maybe the DM wont kill him (I will).
So they are on a pretty large island (2nd largest in the archipelago) thats dominated by the worship of 6 of the 7 deities that were subcontracted by the creators to manage the world. They werent having a very daijobu time cause because of the inciting incident of the campaign, the gods arent here, except, again, because of the actions of the party, one of them is back. So i imagine theyre pretty jazzed about it, its late october in game and the deity back is, amongst other things a harvest deity, so probably the entire country is preparing for the harvest festival or smthg, which is, ofc, on october 31st, same time as the witch fight (long story) and also the day the player is scheduled to die, so itll be a nice reminder of his mortality.
okok so the idea is that ppl born on the island, when theyre kids, theyre tested to see which deity theyre supposed to serve, and people not chosen are just not citizens and are essentialy a slave class, real divergent shit. So i was thinking, because its been 2 years since the whole god stuff went down the drain and clerics all over the world got severely depowered, maybe brandless ppl decided that it was a good time to say "hey, mayhaps we do deserve rights" and starting cutting cleric heads off.
So the party's gonna arrive in what they think is Pontifirma, but actually its "the people's free state of Cynthia", which is being currently sieged by the clergy's army.
Then theyll somehow learn that Cacumen (seat of the clergy) is preparing for doing a massive spell in honor of Gía (god who came back) which just so happens to be something thatll probabbly destroy the free state. Now if the party doesnt interfere, they can just go steal the thing from the pope while every soldier is guarding the spellcasters for the festival, or they can try to get the brandless ppl to storm cacumen or help them in some way, who knows what the party's gonna do.
At any point, they can ask ANYONE for help about the player's devil contract situation, and it will lead to, if not a solution, maybe give them more time to figure it out. Now, will they do that ? I wouldnt bet on it. Because why would a country full of priests and cleric be able to help your devil contract ????
Anyway, i expect to act selfishely and let the brandless ppl die while they heist the pope unepeded, fun church dungeon.
Now, if they decide to have fun instead and interact with the world, well theyll have to fight the holy knights, which are saint seiya gold saint rip offs, I just need to find their animal theme. I want them to be all birds, but idk what theyd be themed around.
Got into my head to make a mono black demon deck and now i need 80 bucks for 40 shadowborn apostles
my NPC names have slowly evolved from "fantasy name generator" to "shit that's on my desk" and slowly inching towards "Star wars background character" territory
wtf is a humblewood
