So, I’ve had a few questions about my process…it’s fairly straightforward and always starts with some good old painting and markmaking. I do my painting while looking out into the yard, so I have my colour references right in front of me usually. The papers I prepare often feel like works of art in themselves, and it’s not always easy to snip them up because of this! I use regular papers, found scraps and other bits and pieces to paint on and favour gouache to create my palettes, although a tube of acrylic is never far away. And that’s pretty much it for the first stage….
