Ah! That was why she felt so familiar to him.
“Yeah.. yeah actually. Went to group therapy a few months back for uh...” Despite them being in the same group therapy, the subject still felt awkward to him, especially since they weren’t exactly in group at the moment. “There was a mass hysteria about cults a while back and it got to me. I remember you from there.” And it still was getting to him with all those nightmares he was having. “How have you...how have you been holding up?”
Emma Watson as Angela Grey in ‘’ Regression’’ (2015) how afraid we are of our own demons.
i am against censorship in fiction. though, i will also say that i think certain topics should be treated with care when writing about them, and adequate warnings should be given. in my opinion, avoiding topics in writing can lead to ignorance, and just a general misunderstanding of issues overall. and especially that tied with the fact that there are a lot of people — myself included — who use writing about dark topics as a method of coping, i really don’t think it’s right to tell them they can’t, just because it makes you uncomfortable… you don’t know the story or the intentions behind them writing it, and they are not obligated to share their traumas and justify their reasons to you.
tl;dr: so long as triggerwarnings are used, i do think fiction can be a safe and healthy place to explore dark topics, and can be beneficial for those who need an outlet.
not so friendly reminder that sending anon hate is never okay. period.
