My backyard is almost perfect for a cormorant tbh.
Not a cormorant post...
May or may not identify as Piers. (But for sure with/otherhearted if not as.)
Been fighting with it.
And kinsidering it for quite some time.
Anybody might assume itd be Corbeau cause of my name but it actually has no relation. And i actually wanna marry Corbeau, not be him, thank you very much.

-๐ชผ๐ฆ
It isnt THE favourite but it IS in my top 10. And im collecting all Cramorant cards i can get my hands on ๐๐
In my team he is like the dumb lil comedic sidekick.

Fun fact: I have a better olfactory system, or well, sense of smell, than the majority of people, and can easily detect what a smell is and where it comes from.
This however, is a curse and NOT a blessing because most people stink. ๐ญ
And due to my olefactory sensitivity, I get painful sinuses from mid to strong scented items.
Ive literally been called "dog nosed" by family, friends and doctors. ๐ (not in a mocking way, theyre usually impressed).
Currently experiencing an egg-related shift. Wanting to have and lay eggs, as well as care for them. ๐ฉ
Dyeing hair is such a bird thing for me. Cause like, how else am I supposed to woo my mate but with colourful feathers? ๐ซฃ
Tbh... more men need to embrace their inner bird.
Cormorant self care be like:
1) Shampoo that smells like rosemary and tea tree. These pungent scents are species affirming to me.
2) Body wash made of real seaweed and algae from the sea. Also has a pungent smell.
3) Coast scented deodorant.
4) Eyeliner the same colour as cormorant eyes.
I'm not like OTHER birds ๐ชฟ๐ ๐ฝ
The bird therian equivalent of quads is just running around and flapping your arms and perching on anything you can find without falling on your ass.
Finally gathered some pictures that I identify most with when it comes to my appearance as a cormorant. I most often used the Great Cormorant to represent me but Ived learned that I lean a bit more into Double-Crested Cormorants as of late.
The key traits are the tufts of white feathers on the head. The second picture is exactly how I feel and see these feathers.
Then the bluish black plumage, brown specks on the wings (like the first picture), yellow face and marine blue eyes.
These three represent me the most. And will be used as reference for my persona/kinsona that I will soon properly design (since i havent yet. Been lazy).
randomly stumbled across your lovely blog and just wanted to say cormorants are my favourite bird! truly the coolest seabird of all time <3 i get tourists asking me all the time where the puffins are, and my reaction is always "wouldn't you rather see a cormorant?"
Thank you for taking the time to share! It always makes me happy to meet someone who appreciates cormorants :')
Most people here dont look for them either. They prefer herons and loons. They just call Cormies stinky when i bring them up. But what can they expect, we're fish birds. We smell fishy. ๐ฆ
HOLY SHIT YOUโRE A CORMORANT???
thatโs so awesome!!!
youโre my favourite kind of bird :}
sincerely,
an owl therian who thinks thatโs the coolest thing ever
Yesss i am indeed hehehe >:3
Thank you for thinking so! Most people tend to brush off cormorants. Its nice to know someone appreciates them!
I love owls! I have tons of great grey owls around my place. I also own a ton of flight feathers of theirs i found naturally. Theyre gorgeous ๐
Everyone be like: "spring is here! The flowers and buds are starting to show! The green is coming back"
Meanwhile, here, in northern canada... we still have 5ft of snow.. T^T
Ostara celebrations for me dont include flowers or nest hunts or planting many seeds. Its too cold, too snowy, and much to early for any of those. (Ostara was a little over a week ago.)
*sobs*
I'd include coastal wolves but im still figuring that part of my identity out. And seeing if its relevant or not.
