To my future lover,
How I’ve waited so long to meet you. I don’t care about your flaws, who you are or what you look like. You’re perfect to me. How I’ve spent days and nights idealizing our relationship because it means everything to me. I long to spend countless hours in your presence, enjoying every moment good or bad, you see. I’ve drawn up many scenarios that feed into my excitement of us together. For instance, I have this reoccurring fantasy where we share an evening of bad weather. I’ve made a speciality of mine, bruschetta and I am singing Frank Sinatra at the top of my lungs. You’re poking fun at my poor singing abilities, but my sarcasm strikes back through the words I have sung. After we eat, we end up curled up on the couch enjoying a smooth glass of Pinot Grigio while watching a classic picture. But watching turns to intimacy, and we find ourselves in a fixture. Soon we tangle, embraced within one an other; sharing sweet, tender kisses to last the evening one after another. Another fantasy consists of us seeing our favorite Broadway shows (I’m not sure if you like them or not.. Hopefully you at least tolerate them). We’re seated in orchestra and once the lights dim, we find ourselves quoting every line, belting song with our voices high and low. We’re so alike, yet so different at the same time. You like cats, I’d prefer a dog. You enjoy coffee, I chose tea. You see blue, I see red. However, there’s a beauty to opposition, it attracts they said. We balance each other out. We create contrasting harmony. When you’re laughing, I’m probably in a state of pout. Now you must know that I am not perfectly polished. I can be emotional, sensitive and cold. I can be standoffish one moment, and the next running to your hold. I can be indecisive, coy and easily annoyed. Most of all, I can be stubborn. It’s a trait I’m learning to steer. You must be understanding; patience is a virtue, my dear. I’ll love you through thick and thin. I’ll stay by your side no matter the endeavor, I’ll be your cover. We’re compatible, baby, made for each other.
Sincerely, Your future lover.
