Hi Rosa! How did you manage to write a WHOLE BOOK without the need to take a break from working full time ?? Did you enjoy the whole process, you did not feel like you have second job ? I guess you have to be very disciplined to do that. Anyway, congratulations !!!!! :)

I did enjoy the process! And I was writing it to write, instead of with the goal of getting it published. Totally just like a destressing hobby! I wanted to get off my phone and off my laptop, and connect with my creativity again. The moment it feels like I’m really forcing the words out, I actually just stop and take a break.

I haven’t unfortunately written in a few months, but once my wedding is done I can’t wait to get back into it! Discipline is def part of it, but so is being a Capricorn eldest daughter lol.

Hi! I did have to take a loan, I only finished paying it back like 3 years ago lol! Saying that it was way more reasonable than a US loan, not sure about UK. When I graduated I think I owed about 33k.

How do you manage to catch up with all the friends while engaging in all of your hobbies? I always pictured you as a homebody based on your tumblr, but I saw your IG last week for the first time and it looks like you have a lot of friends and are very social !! I often struggle with this as my need for me time is much higher that it is in my friends for example. Any tips ?

I am lucky to have incredible girlfriends I enjoy spending time with. Also I don’t have like a group of friends, I mostly have individual friends so it’s never an overwhelming experience for me!

I think the key is balance, yes I can be really social but you are correct, I am a homebody. I prefer under all circumstances to be at home lol. Cancelled plans and I? 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

Boundaries are important. I will rarely text back in real time, I wait for when I am comfortable and have a moment, unless it’s pressing or an emergency. This allows me to create more natural barriers with the extroverted friends I have. I also try not to commit to more than 1-2 social things a week, MAX. My preference is like 3–4 a month. Everyone gets used to it. And my friends are also super busy, super understanding adults, so it’s nbd!!

To maintain that gratifying sense of friendship and community, you do have to sometimes force yourself to do things, but the biggest hurdle is getting ready and leaving the house, after I’m actually present with my friends I’m happy as a clam.

When did you live in London? Did you work there?

I lived and worked in London in 2019! Moved back early 2020 :) I loved being a tourist there, but as a resident London lost a lot of its shine for me, and I preferred Toronto to actually settle in.

Hello Rosa do you use headphones while writing outside ? And if yes, do you have some recommendations ? I’m disturbed by everything (even when I try to focus at home!) so I’m thinking maybe some quality noise cancelling ones could solve this for me ? ..
