So like around sometime either this year or last my boyfriend briefly got me into dandys world, abunch of his freinds play it and I thought id give it a try and at first I came for razzls and dazzle and was just a “casual” player (I’d play every 5-10 business days) but here recently I have liked playing it more but have had a hard time finding people to play it with. Another thing I should mention is I have tamodachi life which is the peak autistic experiance in my opinion but i got the idea of “what if dandys world but human” so I made that and here the consequences of my actions

Hey gang I recently got into ersatz which I highly recommend it you havent already watched it saint graver (I believe they go by clown saint on here) did an amazing job on it and I made a edit to a song I felt fit it very well. Now I will admit that this probably isn't the best edit compared to some I've seen that are absolutely beautiful but I feel I wanted to add my edit to the pot of fandom stew were brewing :)

Can I just say real quick that I don't like Maggie and that her and Marty are both equally awful people, but I feel like the writers actually tried to Marty more likeable by the end.

Episode 6's scene always irked me and apon watching episode 8 it irked me even more

Rust Cohle is such a great depiction of autism I can’t even. It’s so good they couldn’t have been doing it intentionally. That’s what they used to just call weird little guy behavior.

As an autistic person myself I find it funny how the "cool, smart, mysterious loner dude" in most tv shows always are autistic, people say they hate us then write about us like pick a side bro,

They hate us as long as they aren't inconvenienced by it and only get the benefits. The second it's a thing to deal with or are weirded out by then it's a problem

Exactly, I remember seeing a thing on reddit where someone was questioning if Rust has autism or adhd, or both and from the perspective of someone who has autism and adhd and is labeled "high functioning" (I put that in quotes cause even though it is a way to label myself I don't like it cause I feel like it takes away from people who have a harder time with things such as social interactions as well as other issues),

I act very similar to Rust and while we have our differences, I tend to be more energetic at times then him I still have similarites with him, and apon reading through that thread on reddit I was happy to see people who agreed with me that he probably is autistic.

I also however saw people who disagreed and I'm not saying that can't happen you're allowed to think what you want but their reasons were along the lines of

"he can't be autistic cause he couldn't be a detective cause of (insert bs reason) that Doesn't make sense"

"He can't be autistic cause it would stress him out to go under cover "

as if there isn't autistic people who can function in environments like that, I myself being one of them, For years even before watching true detective I had thought about being a detective and I've had people make nasty comments on that such as trying to accuse me I'm just doing it cause I like true crime, I indeed do otherwise I wouldn't be watching true detective however, my main reasons for going into forensics and at the time criminology, and now deciding I want to go into forensic science isn't because of "Oh I wAnNa Be LiKe ThE pEoPlE oN tV" I understand forensics is a highly romanticsized field and takes alot of mental strain cause the Horrorific things you see I understand that you have to desensitize yourself to not go insane and people Don't talk about.or shows that often especially in tv which I think true detective does a good job at not doing that, there are points where we see even though the characters are detectives their still human with human feelings and basic empathy, but my reasoning has always been I want to give some family closure and have them know what happened to their family member/s and or freind/s I know I can't fix everything I'm one person I don't expect to but if I can just help some even a little bit then I feel likeI can live a happy life.

Seeing Rust character also struggle with nihilism was also something I could relate to, I have had struggles with nihilism and pessimism several times in my life and while I try to find the good in life through small things now, Rust out look on life and his eventual change was something that made me feel so happy to see someone who went through years of struggling with shit, and finally found hope was deeply satisfying and also gave me some hope myself. (Sorry for the long rant but I wanted to talk about where I'm coming from)
