Sunshine Boy? Most people on the Isle would probably take it as an insult, but Barry wasn’t most people. It really did fit him, and he loved the sun; even if they couldn’t really see it because it was always overcast.
“I don’t mind, you can call me that.” His smile didn’t fade. He was just so happy to be meeting someone new. Mother Gothel always made sure that he stayed away from other people, she told him it was for his own safety but the honest truth was that she just didn’t want anyone to find out who he was. If it came to light that he was a missing Prince from Auradon, her evil plan would be foiled. “Was there something you were planning on doing?” His eyes fell on the waves of her hair and he found himself wondering what it felt like. Social cues were completely lost on him, he’d been isolated and hadn’t learned how to interact properly so he saw nothing wrong with staring. “Maybe we can do it together?”
Maia smiled well it was more of a smirk than a smile, but it was as close to as smile as Sunshine was gonna get. “Good.” He was so bright and happy, the name really did suit him. Maia couldn’t help but think though how Barry really didn’t seem to belong here.
She didn’t mean that in a bad way, he was just nice and friendly and happy. Something that not a lot of people round here acted like. This place seemed to eat up the good happy things and twist them so all that was left was evil, but Sunshine Boy didn’t seem evil. Either that or he was the world’s greatest actor. “Nah, mostly I was just gonna walk around and kill time.” There wasn’t really a whole lot for her to do. “I suppose I could walk around with you. It might kill the time even faster. Sides you are a curious person Sunshine.” She said watching him.
She started walking figuring he’d follow her. “So tell me, what’s a nice guy like you stuck on the Isle of the Lost for?” She wondered if he was one of those kids that even with an evil parent for some bizarre reason still had some good in them. She’d never met any, but she supposed it was a possibility.
