He was a very skilled operative and was utilized quite frequently as his memories containing classified information were relatively easy to suppress. He knows he’s done bad things. On one of his missions, an anomaly resulting in the death of his entire troop, including his romantic partner, left him stranded on a remote island. What does Sleuth's face look like behind the clock mask?

He has a big scar across his face, green-amber eyes, thick eyebrows, pale skin, a beauty mark, and a resting bitch face.

Why does sleuth wear a clock mask? It looks cool but I'm curious as it's very unique, is it sentimental/a relic from the past and what does he look like without it?

Thanks for asking! Sleuth wears the mask for a multitude of reasons. I'll go through them one by one.

1. Sleuth has a large scar across his face that he hates to look at, and he doesn't want other people to see it either as he's ashamed of it. How he got the scar and what it means to him will be expanded on when chapter 4 comes out in one billion years, but what I can say right now is that he failed to protect somebody important to him. You can see the scar peeking out on the bottom right corner of the mask. On a more figurative level, the scar represents vulnerability. Sleuth as a person likes to hide his true feelings and pain, and I wanted to reflect that in his character design. When the mask is off, it's pretty much a guarantee that he's being real with you. After his falling out with Alice a few months ago, he hasn't really been able to hide how much he's hurting or lie at all. He hasn't worn the mask in a couple months, I think.

2. Sleuth also wears the mask because it's useful. It provides a digital interface (kinda like iron man) that he is able to interact with and remotely control his other inventions through. It's kind of like augmented reality.

3. The specific design of the mask is explained by Parallax in the subgame "Fractal Margins". It's essentially Sleuth reminding himself that he is a ticking time bomb, and will inevitably hurt everyone close to him. To him, every time he sees the clock in the mirror, he's reminding himself that he can't get close with anyone, because if he does, then it's only a matter of time before he hurts them.

Why do you have a chain on your left hand?

It's part of my powerset. I have a tattoo on my left arm of a chain wrapped around it. It allows me to pull a black chain from my wrist. Not very sure why, but I can use it as a weapon and it comes out when I'm teleporting. So at least it's useful.

[ A loud thud emits from the office window, seemingly a Pigeon with a package hanging from its beak, it struggles to stand against the windowsill, resorting to forcefully entirely through the main door of the office building and into the office itself—]

[ The Pigeon collects itself for a moment after the power used to force the doors open, shortly after setting the package down against the desk and rapidly fluttering out the office. ]

[ The package unravels to reveal the following contents : ]

+ Sticks and rocks.

+ A handful of coupons seemingly to get discounts of electronics and computers.

+ A random credit card underneath a photograph.

+ A photograph showing Sleuth in a moment of conversation with a familiar dapper and blind folded individual, the image seems to be taken from outside the window of his office. Below the image reads : “He knows the man of E’s? Can he smell?”

+ Flipping the photograph over will find a brief statement :

“ Evening walking clock, this is pigeon, am newly found friends with Mr. E. I hope these gifts find you well and that hopefully you can out these towards something helpful like a computer. If you ever need help, gifts or intel, call for the name Hera out a window, pigeon will be there. “
