♡ // @chevaleresq / two word starters . / polnareff was always welcomed into her life : having met on ( what she thought was ) chance, shinobu didn’t realize what horrors he was soon to unfold for her. the monster sleeping in her husbands skin, the murderer of morioh. soft brown eyes lightened every time they saw him, corners of her lips turning up when his figured turned up at her door : he was going to be the one to tell her, one might figure considering their brief history together, he insisted to be the one that spoke to her on this very pressing matter. his dinner hadn’t even gotten cold. the worry on her face for her husband was readable, the fact that he was late home with no warning, no call, nothing. he seemed to start following a strict schedule recently : her mind only wandered at what could be holding him back.
♡ // woman sat, confused, yet following along with all of the explanations and stories jean - pierre spoke : stands, the arrow, the connection to a man she had never heard of, how he stole the life of a business man— in so many more ways than one. she had to sputter for a moment, ‘ wait, i - i’m . . . i don’t . . . follow. ’ shinobu’s lips quirked a bit, smile to match her confused, anxious expression / the fear her husbands name was going to get dragged into this mess. her chest tightened, emotions coming in waves when she saw eyes trail towards the empty seats at the dinner table : then it all clicked. she couldn’t help but laugh, shaking her head. some part of her knew it had to have been true with the way events she didn’t have an explanation had their blanks being filled. those round eyes didn’t know where to look, hand flew to her forehead, an emotion she couldn’t describe as anything but overwhelmed racked her body. that’s why he came to morioh : the business she never came to quite understand, the fact he had approached her to question her, the killer that haunted the streets since she was in high school, and now he was here. in her home, telling her everything about yoshikage kira, the horrors he unleashed, packed up and carried into her family. words that she couldn’t remember caught in her throat. it was silent in the room until a soft phrase surfaced from the investigator she couldn’t look at right now.
♡ // eyes that brimmed with tears now made trails down her cheeks. her husband was long dead, the man she thought was a matured version of her husband invaded her home. and she, for a very genuine moment there, was convinced she had loved him for the first time in twelve years. gentle hands searched for something to stabilize herself with, only finding the dinner table with three perfectly set plates. if he was speaking, she couldn’t hear it. there was a fuzz, a static setting in her mind while everything replayed : she knew the first steps yoshikage kira took in her life. pale features were glued to the table, moving to sit herself down. she knew her son was listening from the top of the stairs. a hand, index finger up, reached out to pause him in whatever he was doing. she needed a moment, a few, actually. ‘ c . . . could you give me . . . a moment ? please, jean - pierre ? ’ the moment she was alone, she heaved in deep breaths, trying to calm herself. shinobu, trying to collect her thoughts, tried to find a way to ask him to stay. she didn’t want to inconvenience him, but she knew tonight was going to be long and sleepless.
