I was on a day trip with Ngati Kahu cause they run a program throughout the week, when we headed in to get some food for lunch. That's when I decided to order a large hot chocolate from the same Cafe we got takeaways from, a Cafe called Wild Nekta in Northland.

The large hot chocolate tasted like a sweet, dark hot chocolate marshmallow if that makes any sense, the whole way through drinking it.

Hot chocolate rating: 4.9

It also has a dark chocolate marshmallow aftertaste to it too.

Sorry for not describing much else that was the thing that captured it the best, or I thought so.

I was just waiting around the house when I decided to go get pancakes from mcdonalds alongside a chai latte.

It tasted like banana but I could still tell it was a chai latte . A banoffe flavoured chai latte and I'm not sure why.

I had a cup of tea with no sugar i'd describe it as nearly full bodied and a lil too milky.

It also had the slightest bit that tasted like it was a bad bunch of tealeaves if that makes sense. But I still liked it, it was only a tiny bit of the tea that tasted like this.

Hey just thought I'd put that this is quite a long update right here , I'll try and write a little bit less so you can read these posts faster, there was quite alot to unpick with this one.

I had a small cup of latte which wasnt mixed fully but only bothered me a little bit. It was very fluffy for a latte. Which made it more like a cappuccino but still tasted like a latte.

It didnt need any sugar which was a surprise as it wasnt very sweet.

It did have a little bitter aftertaste though which I didnt really like at first , not a strong one but it was there and for some reason it balanced out on your tongue while still remaining a tiny bit of bitter overtime so you don't mind the slight bitterness anymore. Which doesn't really happen for me with lattes and I liked it.

I like how it looked in a quirky way for a sort of homemade coffee machine latte. It was only like a taste of latte since the cup was small; so I felt like another hot drink right after, I do wish it was a bigger cup that's a con.

I was at a Ngati Kahu day trip for a program they run to meet their new boss so it was a short trip too.The programmes are run throughout the week and are usually longer than this one.

Latte rating:

I drank the drink alongside some date scones that were small and delicious to suit the drink; which I think wa cutesly intentional. I enjoyed the intentionality behind that . But small lattes are supposed to pack a big amount of flavour generally, so it wasnt exactly done right in that aspect aswell but in overall latteness for a normal sized latte I would give it a 4.1/10 from the thought put in behind the flavour of the latte.

It was a generically nice and sort of different Latte drink.

The scones were gone before you know it so I couldnt take a photo of them. I didnt mind the latte; it was alot of a lighter flavour in all elements of the drink and which is what made it different. I know if they increased the flavors for the cup size and maintained the elements of lightness throughout the drink and mixed it a little bit better and cleaned up the cup etc.. and made it less fluffy it would've gotten a higher rating from me.

I liked that I wanted another cup of the latte but then; didnt like that so I couldnt make up my mind about that part. That was pretty random the more I think about it and didnt really negatively impact what I rated it cause I couldnt make up my mind about it.

I made myself cup of tea but this time it was a herbal tea called sleep.

Tea rating:

It doesn't really seem to relax people very much or encourage sleep so I'm unconvinced that it works but I did feel like this tea at this moment. So I liked it . I was only slightly relaxed by the sleep tea , it was a light tea not a very strong flavour more subtle Chamomile and passionflower flavour. I've never really tasted what a passionflower was supposed to taste like so I'm just gonna suppose it was a light flavour.

I rate it a 3.9 .

The second tea.

I had to make another tea and I made it better. The temperature was alright and I left it to steep a tiny bit longer and I could taste more of the flavors in the tea somehow. I put 1 sugar in this one too. Eventhough bell isn't more than one specified flavour; by some odds the tea managed to give off a more fully bodied tea quality and showed different flavour hints like it was a different tea almost, but it was just the same normal bell tea. It was a little bit too milky still and if it was hotter I think it would've tasted nicer with the chocolate pods.

I'm still wanting to up my tea game but this was nice. I lightly enjoyed this tea. I dont know how I managed to bring out more flavors by steeping it a tiny bit longer but I was kind've impressed. Tea rating : 4.3

I made a cup of tea with 1 sugar and walked away for 30 seconds and two flies landed on my cup so I tipped it out. The flies in northland are crazy, what in the heck, I'd only drank maybe 6 sips so I decided to just make another one. Wow.

Tea rating:

But I still could rate this one , it was a 3.9/10. I tend to not be making very good teas at the moment - I'm not really sure what it is but I think I'm not leaving the tea bag in for long enough and they're too pale. I think its mostly my tea game is off , hopefully I can start making teas properly again soon and I have to drink them quicker before the flies try and land in my gosh darn cup. Ew. Small update this one.

5 year update .

Wow I can't believe it's the first time I've updated in 5 years; this blogs been put on hold for a wee while there. It's lovely to be back :D

~ I'm planning on updating more frequently from a whole notha city (Northland in new zealand) in a makeshift way, as I'm planning to move to a possibility of 3 different cities from here at some point as my plans aren't set in stone. But I'm excited to be back eventhough this is a very random time to restart my coffee blog. Stay tuned folks and keep sipping back those hot drinks and cool ones. :D much love - Courtney <3

I walked out to town after I had lunch and wanted to get a hot chocolate.

In Kaitaia , Norhland I know that the bakehouse cafe does a mean hot chocolate as do alot of other cafes here.

I ordered a hot chocolate and chillaxed.

Hot chocolate rating:

I'd rate the hot chocolate an 8.4 out of 10.

It was hot , the right sweetness , creamy - not overly but just a bit and yum overall.

At the start of the hot chocolate it usually tastes like an 8.6 then steadies out to a 8.4 overall.

I know I can come back here since it's easy to spot and not out of the way. Plus they dont really disappoint with hot chocolates. Since the quality for them usually doesn't drop. I enjoy their hot chocolates every time I get them. Plus they're open on the weekends and at longer times than most cafes in northland are.

Great to stop by here to get a hot chocolate if you're ever in kaitaia town.

I've tried the cappuccinos here too and they aren't as great as the hot chocolates.

Three or four coffees a day linked to lower risk of various diseases, including some cancers.

Been on hold for a bit

So I haven't posted anything for a good 3 months and I'm not certain if I'm gonna pick up posting again soon or not. But I'll let you's know - stay tuned.

At school for a lunch break I scadoodled down the road to Jacko’s cafe, It was pretty busy. I ordered a mochachino and carrot cake and sat down on the leather couch in the corner with the little wooden coffee table in front of me. :)

The mocha chino was a little sweet, and a little hot but was pretty nice overall,

My rating: 5.2/10

Wednesday July 6th 2016, 8:30pm ( I should really remember to take photos before I finish or before i begin eating or drinking whatever I'm tryna take a photo of ) MY FLATMATE CAME HOME WITH MY COFFEE !!! and I drank one with my soup :) (which oddly looked and tasted very similar to KFC potato and gravy , it was ... Odd. o.o) Ugh yes Jed's coffee 💞, it says it's 'just great coffee' and it totally is. 😍 My coffee rating : 6.0 Comments: tasted a little different with milk powder. But still kicking it majorly !!

I felt like a cup of tea in the middle of my very long journey to making a vegetable soup with vegetable stock from scratch. ‘Twas a mission and something I’d been putting off for a couple of days. While making my tea I realised I had no milk so it was back to milk powder xD but , I wasn’t complaining it tasted yummm!!! (I also accidentally spilled some of it on the floor , so I went to go find the sweep and shovel) I paired it with some cheese and relish on crackers while I waited for the soup to cook. :)

Pretty good tea , not as great as my other ones but it was still nice. (1 sugar)

Tuesday 5th July 2016, 11:00am Being the poopy design student that I am , I was not at school yesterday and ended up getting to school at 12:15pm. (Rolls eyes at myself and sighs # because it's quite a regular occurence) but of course before I managed to get out to the bus stop 'just in time for the next bus' I had another little tuna concoction and a cup of tea (because I still don't have my coffee yet T^T , I informed my flatmate and she said she'd get it back by tomorrow at some point !! -- hope is not lOoOst) Cup of tea , nice. Taste good. :) Tea rating : 5.1 /10

I stopped at Coffee club with my friend from course :)

I got a hot chocolate with the amazingly decadent , banana, marshmallow and nutella crispizza and I think my friend got a mochachino.

We had a conversation about where on earth I’d been since I hadn’t shown up in class very regularly and explained I was having second thoughts about fashion design but the staff talked me into staying.

Another friend spotted me from inside the cafe and dropped in to say hi. (Not pictured gotta ask ppl if they like pics) I was also immensely tired and when her boyfriend came along and joined us , I fell asleep in the little corner like booth seat with little couch pillows for a good couple of hours and then got driven home. :)

Its nice, doesn’t get better though and doesn’t do amazing things for you, but it was a decent hot chocolate. Which for coffee club is usually the standard

Came back home from my cafe break and after putting all the groceries away , shifting around and wasting time twiddling my thumbs I felt a little peckish and had the craving for a little coffee. Of course I have my amazing Jed’s coffee in my cupboard and I was dying for a cup of this heavan sent drink. So I made one along with my own tuna concoction on toast and lettuce and balsamic vinigarette. The coffee 😍 always tastes nice. I first tasted it at a boarding house I stayed at before I moved into the flat I’m in now and I only just figured out , to get it to the right taste it needs two and a half sugars and then pretty there’s not much else that can go wrong. Rating : 6.3/10
