Around here I hear that life is quite jumbled
I’m scared of the dark, I too must admit.
A bird in the sky whistles unbeknownst,
Vomit and wipe the acidic juice away.
I know, yes I do, I know it’s true.
Thinking of daydreams and why they happen,
Come in from the cold, take a breath and sit.
Find a passion, so they say, but I know - run, run afraid.
Listless, complacency, a mother who fears
I twist, he turns, a place never to be earned.
The twilight of dawn comforts my hammering heart.
Listening and waiting for the strong wind to come,
What I know is nothing but at least that’s something.
Free-falling, sinking, shimmering and splat.
Sleeping brings a soothing lull of knowing.
The grass is yellow and he yells out my name.
My bathtub reminds me of sadness and youth.
It is an odd comfort to hear you cry.
The perfume of the past is heady and rare
Blood, metallic taste, bricks and bones, haunted face.
Epsom salt will sting his wounds but pacify his aches
And there she is so small and bright, failing quick.
A brain deteriorating, laughs heartily
Runs from the words you tried to avoid.
Sickness, sickness, but healthy as an ox.
A name is just a name until someone forgets.
The inter-workings of my brain beg you to see,
Autumn is a beautifully twisted season.
Feelings are for the weak we will believe
I know - No, I don’t. Look away while I choke.
