The smile taking over Sebas' lips was genuine. He was happy to have a friend to rely on, and to offer his support to as well. Those were hard to come by nowadays. He knew Cyrus' experience would be invaluable, not only for the case, but for his life as a whole. As such, he would honor this friendship greatly.
He was about to add something else when the roaring thunder stopped him halfway through. The rain was starting to fall and, while they both could certainly make an energy dome to stop the water from falling, he agreed that it was just best to take shelter in the truck. Easier too.
Sebas followed, getting into the passenger's seat and following his friend's example. He took off his suit jacket, but he instead folded it neatly and placed it on his own lap so they could carry their conversation. Not before he offered Cyrus some refill of coffee. There was still plenty in the thermos, after all.
He tried and failed not to stare at the other's arms for a moment. Damn, was Cyrus a beautiful man.
"Yeah, I would deeply appreciate that," Sebas nodded at Cyrus' final suggestion. "Although I don't think I can just hand the case over to you. It's my duty as Quaesitor to investigate these kind of occurences. Perhaps we can work together?"
He offered a smile, gentle and polite as usual, letting his eyes drift to the rain heavily falling outside. It's not like he was in any rush to leave, and it really wasn't like him to just shake off his own responsibilities.
"Plus, it's a good opportunity to hang out for a bit," he added, looking back and gently patting Cyrus' arm. "I'd hate to be the kind of friend who just brings trouble and not nice things."
"You're lucky you're cute," he replied with a beaming smile. Soon enough, he fell into silence while he looked over the report and the files that his friend had scrounged up. Everything sank in like pieces of a puzzle, all thanks to his photographic memory. After having thoroughly looked over all of the information, he closed the file and set it up on the dashboard, freeing his hands to clutch at his hot beverage and bring it up to his lips, to then take a sip. "I'll contact some people, see if they've heard any rumblings of whatever's going on. If you'd like to work together, I'm always happy to offer you a room at my place. It'd be easier if we pooled our resources together."
There was always something happening in his life; he enjoyed being useful, and keeping himself busy allowed him to forget some of the worries in life. Namely... relationships and sex. Although the latter wasn't something he pondered too much about, since he had a decent amount of access to sexual partners, flings and romances. Though, it had been a couple of weeks since he was in bed with anyone.
His cup of coffee is set down into the middle console. Cyrus looks through the windshield, noting how harsh and dense the rain had become. It didn't seem like it would ease up, but in the moment, he was glad he had parked his vehicle on tarmac. While doing so, he gathers a towel from his duffle bag and begins to dry off his head. Thankfully, his buzz-cut styled hair didn't hold onto much rainwater, so it was easy to dry off. His clothes however? Remained soaked. If he were alone, he would have removed them all and sat in his underwear until the downpour ceased.
