This is where you will find Andrew Jenssen and I September 19-20 at Rose City Comic Con! Table J7, right in front of the bathroom. Aw yeah. The best.
I just got a wig from Epic Cosplay for my sister’s costume for RCCC. I mentioned in the notes what it was for, and they sent me this adorable drawing attached to my package. That’s so cool. :D

You may have found your way to this humble blog today after having clicked on the link for Cola & Runic’s RCCC table! I’m Cola! Andrew is Runic, and you can find his tumblr blog here by clicking on these words which are clearly a link.
We’ll be sharing table J7 right in front of the restrooms September 19-20 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. Come by, say hi, take some of our free business cards, and maybe buy a magnet or a button or used tennis shoes (this is a rummage sale, yes?).
I hope we see you there, humble Tumblr buddy!
Buttons, magnets, postcards, and business cards for Rose City Comic Con, where I’ll be sharing table J7 with Andrew Jenssen.
Fully completed copies of The Drake Equation issue #1 will also be there, and whatever else I can scrape together before then. :D
I often draw things that never get posted for various reasons. In this case, it was because I wasn’t happy with the shoes and wanted to change them later, only later never happened.
To apologize for my long absence, here’s a drawing that I created of Leigh’s sister, Siobhan. She is a fashion designer. In the context of the world of TDE, designing close is akin to creating apps or plans for 3D printers. That is, she programs clothing that people download via their arm computers, which uses the design to reshape their smart suits accordingly.
It has always been a feature of Leigh’s character that she is actually very close with her family, but I like the tension between Leigh’s fascination with the natural world to the exclusion of technology and industry, and her sister’s embrace of the creative potential of new technologies.
…and just think about about how indulgent and fun clothing can be when you don’t even need a closet. Talk about beating H&M at their own game.

Before you’re like, “you should at least hear her out,” consider this: 1) companies have to learn that “exposure” is not fair compensation and artists should be paid for their work! 2) if your company can’t pay, then it’s not big, ergo, it is NOT good exposure. 3) Doing art for free for a tech start up might be a good idea in case it gets big, but I could tell it wasn’t that because no tech company has a print brochure. 4) FUCK THAT LADY.
Costume ideas for something I'm making for my sister. I'm sure you can tell what I'm going for. I think everyone gets a little hung up on the individual costumes as though they're distinct sets, but all the pieces are modular--I can mix and match to get something right. I don't know, maybe that's why we had to make a minimum of thirty thumbnails for every project in Graphic Design back in college.
I updated TDE with some behind the scenes stuff this week. Take a loooooook.
You ever look back on old work just think, damn, this is so much better than anything I'm doing now.
Black History Month!
My favorite parts of history (as might be obvious from my choice of subject matter when making books) are the ones that fall into easily-categorized genres, genres with associated visual iconographies. This is the sort of stuff I loved as a kid: pirates, knights, cowboys, explorers, romans and Egyptians and flying aces. Stuff you could find featured in a bag of toys or a generic costume. For Black History Month, I thought I might visit some of these adventure-leaning periods and pick a few historic black people from those eras to draw, just for fun. If you’re doing a project or report in school this month, you could do worse than to tackle one of these toughies. Feel free to share some of these with youngsters that you know. And call them youngsters, they LOVE that.

Reblogging for anyone (youngsters or oldsters) who is looking for some starting points for research, year-round!
just thought i'd let you know that belle is the woc merchant you recruit in val royeaux bonny sims is a different woman.
Ah, yes, I actually just figured that out the other day on my own--but thank you for pointing that out (I mean that sincerely). I feel pretty stupid.
cross out the things you've done.
Graduated high school | Kissed someone. | Collected something really stupid. | Smoked a cigarette.| Got so drunk you passed out. | Rode every ride at an amusement park. | Gone to a rock concert. | Helped someone. | Gone fishing. | Watched four movies in one night. | Gone long periods of time without sleep. | Lied to someone. | Snorted cocaine. | Failed a class. | Smoked weed. | Dealt drugs. | Been in a car accident. | Been in a tornado. | Been to a funeral. | Burned yourself. | Ran a marathon. | Cried yourself to sleep. | Spent over $200 in one day. | Flown on a plane. | Been cheated on. | Written a 10 page letter.| Gone skiing. | Been sailing. | Had a best friend. | Lost someone you loved. | Shoplifted something. | Been to jail. | Dangerously close to being in jail. | Had detention. | Got in trouble for something you didn’t do. | Stolen books from the library. | Gone to a different country. | Dropped out of school. I'm having cake for dinner. And I'm tagging people because be quiet, I want to. tomecko, moonshotstudios, runicknight, jordangreyofficial, kbox-in-the-box, patentbending, and anyone else. Feel free to add, subtract, or edit as you see fit.
Applying for jobs is starting to feel a lot like
I had some ideas about what Mythal might have looked like when she was in her own body, so I drew some stuff. Still not super happy with it, but it's not a serious thing anyway.
The hair is meant to look kind of like a dragon's tail.
I have no idea who ninety percent of the people I follow on Tumblr are anymore. :(
