A guy with their pet orange-bellied isopod. The writing on the blanket wrapped around it is a sing-along usually sang for children. Some scavenger's attire. And some scouts mobbing a soldier to get them further away from their little outpost. Soldier has better things to care about.

Capnocytophaga simia. The bacteria that lives in Simius' mouth. This bacteria is relatively harmless, only causing irritation and itching in humans. Very easily treatable. In some cases, for animals, the constant itching and scratching can prevent the wound from healing, and can lead to infection. It can also be potentially dangerous for immunocompromised humans, where it can cause sepsis in the absolute worst scenarios. Still, again, it is pretty harmless in general and even without care the immune system can deal with it in a few days. It's a good way to teach predators not to mess with Simius again, though.

This has me thinking about putting my spec evo dragons into Half-Life ngl. They're 600lb pterosaurs, specifically of an as yet undiscovered ghost linage of dimorphodontids, and of course can breathe fire. They can live over 200 years, which is how they've stayed hidden for so long: it's the same few surviving individuals who've been perfecting hiding since the 1800s. I have a lot to say about them but I don't wanna put a whole novel in your Ask Box. I'd also be lying if I said I haven't thought about what they'd think of simius (mostly positive, it's another intelligent species with something against humanity, and one that can easily stay hidden and spy on them too)

Simius would be scared as hell of such a creature, i won't lie. They'd be weary, but are also Quick to make ally with fellow intelligent species.
