“The bees. I’m talking about the bees.” Lukas gripped onto the counter, staring at the bee that had landed on his batch of honey danishes, “Look at this. Stealing my food… Next, my place in the army,”
“A bee’s not…snrk, a bee’s not going to replace you. It just happened upon your food since it smells good and the window’s open. And it’s only one of the danishes, so the rest should be alright.” Her gaze moves to said bee, watching it slowly crawl over the pastry. She would’ve shooed it off by now if she wasn’t afraid of getting stung.
"But how can you be certain? The bee and I clearly share an interest," Lukas, the bee does not bake. It is sitting on the danish doing nothing but crawling and occasionally considering flight, "Bees are economically important. The bees are after my danishes... And there is nothing I can do about it," ... He could close the window after shooing the bee away, if he weren't so obsessed with the bee stealing his life.

“… Valter, I don’t think–” Lukas gave a long, slow blink, considering it himself. Actually… Why would anyone name a tournament after a flower? It seemed counterproductive if your score wasn’t based on form and beauty. “I… don’t think that it has anything to do with the actual flowers. I think they just liked the name because it sounded nice. It’s rather silly if you think about it…”
Great. This just might keep him up at night.
“Well – maybe they used dark magic so that the roses are like little animated soldiers and then they give them little weapons and stick them into an arena and have them fight to the bloody death? Well, not bloody, but – you know what I mean.”
Hmmm. On second thought, that actually sounded pretty entertaining. He’d probably pay to see that, admittedly. Adorable flower soldiers waging a terrible war until only one was left standing? HILARIOUS.
"So... flower based combat? That sounds like quite a feat–" A thought came to mind, equally useless to his original train of thought. "Actually, perhaps they would form the roses into a fully sized person? But I suppose that would require too much magic to have an army, unless they had a lot of mages or a way to permanently imbue the magic, and– this is not the point of this conversation at all!"
Lukas still didn't know if there WAS a point. The idea of flower soldiers seemed more interesting than the actual tournament, though.
