The Lord teaches us through layers of repetition. Through different iterations of doing things over and over, and if we do not use them over and over, then we will forget, or not able to use them actively. Each kingdom has a law pertaining to each kingdom, per layers of learning line upon line, precept upon precept, grace for grace, presence for presence.
This reminds me of Photoshop layers, and layers are important to me, and I feel layers are ways that the Lord teaches us layer by layer, line upon line, precept upon precept. In Photoshop, one can work in layers, and there is an Eye icon to turn the layer off or turn the layer on Turning the layer off means the information is not visible to the eye. On a layer, the user can put information, drawings, data, sketches, and pretty much anything that one can conceive on that layer.
In Photoshop, one can use as many layers as possible to create any desired effect. Turning the eye on on the layer, allows the information to be visible. In the same way, I feel the Lord teaches us on layers and levels of understanding through revelation. Revelation builds upon revelation, truth, upon truth. Foundations in temple construction are the same way. Things are built upon a footings, corner stones, and the foundation holds all the things above it firm and steady. If we see spiritual things on spiritual layers, a good representation of this is in the temple endowment.
The Lord reigns and created the Earth, and Adam helps create the Earth to present to the Father. And you see the Lord standing above the Earth like on another layer above it.
I think and feel that the Lord can apply telestial laws for us to adhere to on different levels and layers that only apply to us. The Father and the Son can manipulate and control those laws of physics, motion, weather, gravity, etc that can help us in our lives to bless the righteous, and punish the wicked.
In Photoshop, you can have like three different layers one on top of the others. And different things can show through or not show through to other layers, creating a whole picture.
In the same way, I believe the Spirit can teach us to SEE the things of God and discern things of a spiritual sphere even when looking at through physical eyes.

there is a missionary broadcast of which Elder Oaks talks about helping missionaries teach and baptize converts to Christ. He talks about helping people have the "desire" to repent, and learn more about Christ.
I believe when we learn of Christ through the Holy Ghost, and have a desire to believe, and quoting Alma in the Book of Mormon,
27 But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
Arousing your faculties even to an experiment upon my words, to me reminds me of the ways we SEE with the Holy Ghost, and how he teaches us.
When we have a desire to believe, he reveals more truth upon truth.
It reminds me of the Veil excerpt also, these layers, remind me of a curtain that covers a window, or in this case as you are talking about the veil that covers the Father, in our minds we have veils that cover veils of understanding based on revelations upon revelations, with a belief on Christ.
There are many veils that the Lord reveals something to us, and we are able to pass through and experience that veil of understanding, then continue to another veil.
Then another, then another, etc ...
I see an animation of a veil opening, and another one being presented, then that one opening, etc ...
Or like if you look at an onion or even the crust of the Earth, or even our skin on our bodies. There are layers upon layers that protect one layer from another.
What would it be like to be able to perceive through these different veils of understanding, being able to see through Babylon, and see spiritual things?
I have had personal experiences, of being in the Celestial room, and sitting and pondering, and seeing more into the spirit world, of context that I could see more spiritual things that existed beyond ones physical sight.
Say the physical world on which we live is a layer.
The spiritual world is a layer.
The telestial world, is a layer.
The terrestial world is a layer.
The celestial world is a layer.
There could be many and I believe there are many different layers for each world also.
The brother of Jared in the Book of Mormon, was able to perceive the finger of the Lord.
Because of his great faith, he spoke with Jehovah, and saw His spiritual body.
7 And the Lord saw that the brother of Jared had fallen to the earth; and the Lord said unto him: Arise, why hast thou fallen?
8 And he saith unto the Lord: I saw the finger of the Lord, and I feared lest he should smite me; for I knew not that the Lord had flesh and blood.
9 And the Lord said unto him: Because of thy faith thou hast seen that I shall take upon me flesh and blood; and never has man come before me with such exceeding faith as thou hast; for were it not so ye could not have seen my finger. Sawest thou more than this?
10 And he answered: Nay; Lord, show thyself unto me.
11 And the Lord said unto him: Believest thou the words which I shall speak?
12 And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie.
13 And when he had said these words, behold, the Lord showed himself unto him, and said: Because thou knowest these things ye are redeemed from the fall; therefore ye are brought back into my presence; therefore I show myself unto you.

Do we have the faith, to look beyond the television?
and see into the spiritual rhelms?
If its possible, do we have faith, or the desire to work within us, to perceive beyond the spiritual world?
I know and have heard that being obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel help us to see the face of God.
Joseph Smith talks about it, to make your calling and election made sure.
To see the face the Lord, and talk with him face to face.
Do we have the faith and the confidence in God and trust in Him enough that we could call upon Him, in whatever trial or circumstance to receive the strength to endure our trails with that great faith?
We "see" these things in the Book of Mormon all the time.
Its like a path that the Father is showing and manifesting to us through the will of the Son, via the Holy Ghost, whom will "26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
The Lord can help us recall anything we need at anytime, via our diligence, faith in Him, and relying upon the Godhead to see and understand things beyond mortal comprehension.
In the same Missionary broadcast, Elder Bednar talks about seeing the needs of those we teach as missionaries.
He talks about how the Holy Ghost works through us
We are limited and finite in our expressions to do what we are able, but as Elder Bednar talks about, the Spirit works through us by us just doing what we do each day, by being who we are, and doing what we know we should.
If we are not able to do something that God wants, the Lord magnifies through the Holy Ghost like a magnifying glass.
You know the one you looked at the ground, looking at ants, and burning leaves and such? The Father helps us see things, and magnifies us through the Holy Ghost, to perceive, and do the things he wants us to assist Him to further His great work.
Through spiritual eyes, we can see and do beyond our mortal abilities, and he strengthens us. We are edified in Him,
"22 Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth, understand one another, and both are edified and rejoice together.
23 And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.
24 That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.
25 And again, verily I say unto you, and I say it that you may know the truth, that you may chase darkness from among you;
26 He that is ordained of God and sent forth, the same is appointed to be the greatest,"
Is all about layers, and receiving more and more based upon our faith, and righteous desires to do the work we do in the Lord. He helps us see the things we need to do, by guiding us and directing us through the Holy Ghost.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
29 And if ye are purified and cleansed from all sin, ye shall ask whatsoever you will in the name of Jesus and it shall be done.
The gospel of Jesus Christ, is just so fascinating to me.
Its like what you are saying here,
"When these heightened ears and eyes are used in tandem, things can be understood in new ways, like when Christ appears to the people of Nephi and “they heard a voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard … [later] they did hear the voice, and did open their ears to hear it, and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look steadfastly towards heaven...and behold, the third time they did understand the voice” (3 Nephi 11:3-7)"
We use our eyes and ears to perceive things, what if we could perceive a smell as a sound.
