“That’s a relief.” Looking like the long lost member of the Chipmunks, he went on to say, “ ‘Made a bet once on account that I’d kill myself if I stopped being enigmatic.” Glenn craned his neck but lazily to try and catch any of the contents of the book Charlotte was holding.

“Lumber? Nah, never liked it,” he sniffed. “Too many of them hard-hats at work type’a vibes, ya’ know? I used to rumble with a bunch of those guys, and I always had ta’ smell ‘em afterwards… “

She laughed, honestly amused at the action from the man in front of her. He was definitely a bit… abrasive. This was something that never really deterred Charlotte. “If you know where to find it, why are you asking?”

“--Hey, you never know!’” That was the slogan for New York Lottery and, subsequently, the quickest come-back Glenn could pull at the moment.  “Remember how the rich-and-famous are always bored? Yeah. WeIl, I’m like that, see, only I’m broke and my name’s about as widespread as Twiggy’s waistline.” Just when he thought he had quipped his last quip, he noticed some of the shop’s props standing rather dust-free in the corner. She’s probably a chip off that old pbrick, Bassingame, he sneered to himself. That’d be my luck. Mediums and The Ghostbusters had a lot of bad (usually staged) blood between them. And yet Coleman often found himself paying their respective (but never respectable) gouging fees over and over again.

“A’ight. Since neither of us seems to know ... anything ... why don’t we just have a conference call with your acrylic ball there? You ask who you are; I ask for the winners.”

Stiffly, Coleman rolled his neck around, first in the front, then towards the back, evoking the image of a huge and tetraplegic owl. On the tenth turn his problem spot crackled. “N’ thanks. I get enough of that at home ... job ... side-job,” he sniffed finally.
