Welp let me tell you about a pygmy goat named Penelope (if you don't feel like reading, scroll down and enjoy!)
Now, Penelope was not listed in my original posts with all the animals I have right now because she no longer lives with us.
Why? Well, you see, Penelope could be a bit of... a troublemaker.
I had just finished fighting with my dog, MamaMaria, to get her harness on her to go on a walk because she was so excited she couldnt sit still.
I walk through the side door out of my back door, to avoid walking through the house and am walking down the driveway. Suddenly, I hear a screach like
And this tiny goat we have only had for a few days come SOARING down off of our 10(ish? Point is its really freaking tall) ft wall that she somehow managed to make it over.
Now, innocent little past me had no freaking idea that she would do this, or any idea of the shenanigans yet to come.
Penelope, of course, walked up to me like it was no big deal. She just didnt want me to take her backyard buddy and leave (this was prior to getting our other two dogs).
Somewhere between terrified and unable to stop laughing, I asked for assistance in getting her in the back yard again and quickly made my escape.
Oh, but this was only the beginning. Over the course of the next week or two we had recieved AT LEAST one phone call from a neighbor almost daily saying she had gotten into their yards or they saw her running down the road. On the days that she was on a leash that she didn't manage to get out of, she was still yelling when we got back. She is the reason our back deck is now broken.
Oh, and to top it all off? SHE FIGURED OUT HOW TO SCALE OUR HOUSE AND GET ON THE ROOF. I think it can best be described as a dance when one doesnt know how to dance and so one just flops around as aggressively as possible, while sounding like a drunk tap dancer, because, y'know, she has hooves AND WAS ON THE METAL ROOF.
This led to several incidences of us sitting on the couch watching tv to stop and go,
"Penelope is on the fucking roof again."
All this to say, I am not trying to frame Penelope as bad. More alligned with extremely chaotic good dog goat. She loved getting pet, was insane adventurous, and didn't like being alone.
As hard as I try, I'm not sure my description can do it justice. Hopefully this will.
