granted, i admire araki’s ability to just cast aside things he doesn’t like or doesn’t find interesting anymore. fucked up the character design? either slowly change it over the course of the part of just completely change it by the time they show up next chapter. don’t like where that foreshadowing was going? bury it and think up something else.

it’s hard plotting out a long running series, and especially hard to plot beat-by-beat details in a weekly manga (prior to part 7)

the fact that araki’s so willing to improvise on the fly is exactly what made the series popular to begin with–if he wasn’t willing to change or take risks, jojo probably would’ve died much earlier on. hell, the very act of killing off your main protagonist and replacing them with another one was completely revolutionary. usually that sort of thing would mark the start of some sort of spin-off or entirely new manga but nope.
