Hello! Wide and Wonderful World!

Good morning! Embrace the depravity of man! Get out of bed, and stretch! Take a deep and insightful breath, and ponder, if you can, the fallen and rambunctious state of this world leaping and sprinting toward hell! Prepare yourself for work and make the commute, and consider the broken masses, searching for meaning and fulfillment in every wrong place! Offer salutations and pour coffee at your office, while contemplating the constantly increasing number of individuals who are born, live, and die without coming to know salvation!

Cherries, George! Cherries! Not apples, not grapefruit, not walnuts or shellfish or penicillin. Cherries. Why is that so hard to remember?

Sweets to enjoy.

Just so you know, there are an assortment of sweets in the breakroom that Charles and I received over the weekend, the entirety of which, we will surely not be able to eat. Charles and I both thank all of you for your continued support.

Mom's Breakfast Visit

John looked at the wall clock and sighed. Only 9:15.

His sinuses were dry from the cannula, but that’s not new. Wheeling the squeaky cart to the mirror, a gaunt and foreign face examined him.

Old eyes and thin hair, but the baseball card in the mirror’s corner fostered a weak smile. Small hands gripped the bat and small arms produced a slow swing. Crowd roaring, scent of dirt and hot dogs and grass. Hot sun and cool breeze.

John ran the bases and woke up. He pressed the call button and received a trayed and grey meal. Good morning, son.

It is to sit and see a tree

through a cloudy window in the night, and

think it’s branches look like the spindly cracks

you ignore in your vanity.

Also, still, to stand in the fray and hear

two separate conversations.

One from the calm, angular foreign man
