02/12/26 - Silverthorne, CO - BREAKFAST VISITOR - It’s been awhile but we’ve finally made it back to Silverthorne to go skiing with Sheen, Barbara and friends. I’m a little nervous about staying above 9,000 ft and skiing at even higher elevations as I’m just now starting to feel good again after a tough battle with pneumonia last month. So far, so good: no problems breathing. This morning, while waking up over coffee and breakfast, we started the day off with a surprise visitor behind our condo. He was gracious enough to give us plenty of time to get some great pics. Thank you handsome Red Fox: we appreciate you.
Glowing Trees by Hugo Valle Via Flickr: Fresh back from our first trip of the year, where we faced some of the most extreme cold we’ve ever experienced. For the first three days, the temperature stayed below -22°F (-30°C), even hitting -31°F (-35°C)—I can’t even imagine what the wind chill felt like at night or dawn! ❄️ Despite the deep freeze, we’re so happy to be back. It was a smooth trip filled with stunning northern lights and new spots that I’ll be sharing with you soon. 🌌✨ In the meantime, here’s a shot I took last year at Riisitunturi National Park during those brief moments when the sun actually makes an appearance. 🌅
