The natural world provides an abundance. Like this dandelion I Forager from my front yard. The leaves are edible, the roots can be roasted to make a delicious tea and even the flowers can be food. Our forager bandana helps you find and use 7 common edible wild plants. Click the link in our profile to take one on your next adventure.
Voting time!! Remember this kit we did for Father’s Day? I’m thinking about bringing it back but I want to know what you want in the kit. There are three options: 1. Fire Piston 2. Ferro Rod 3. Traditional flint and steel. What would your vote be?
Thinking back to warmer days with fish in the frying pan. It was a good summer! Looking forward to enjoying the fall.
Well said, Lord Byron. Well said. Got some wisdom dropped on me while enjoying a nice cup of nettle tea today. Thank you, @tradmedicinals
It’s incredibly important to me to pass on the basic outdoor skills I love so much to my children. It has been life changing for me to me to spend time in nature and learn what can be done with raw materials. It’s incredibly empowering and confidence inspiring! This is a lean-to my son and I built and return to every now and then. It was such a fun experience and I guarantee he feels pride in it. And a sense of self sufficiency that playing a video game can’t bring. What outdoor skills are you teaching your kids? What are they excited about?
Cutting down your pack weight doesn’t have to mean sacrificing. It just means you have to be smart about what you bring. All of our bandanas let you bring more on your adventures without adding weight. Like this Cabin Fever bandana that lets you play 4 different games with rocks or sticks you can find on the trail. I love to see our bandanas our in their natural habitat! We make these to be used. Sure, they’re pretty, but they are meant to be used for the thousand things you can do with a sturdy bandana. This design happens to also help you carry 16 diagramed knots for quick reference. Click the link in our profile to grab one for your next adventure.
We have some things in the works that are going to make our multifunctional bandanas even better! Very excited about it. Stayed tuned for updates.
The seasons are certainly changing. The snow level is starting to drop. Anyone have winter camping plans this year? Thanks @jennybodell for sharing this amazing photo she took over the weekend!
Good bye, Vegas! Until next time. Not upset to be returning to a classic Seattle. 60's, overcast, scattered showers. Home sweet home!
Just added a larger pot to my cooking set up. It's got an additional inset pot and the lid doubles as a frying pan. I feel pretty cramping trying to cook in the little tiny pots that are common to backpacking. It totally doesn't work if you're cooking for more than one person. Excited to see how this works! I'll be sure to post updates.
Colter Co. is at the Las Vegas souvenir and resort gift show this week! If you're in the neighborhood stop by and say hi. #vegas
I seriously love Mt. Rainier! Today's predawn arial view was an experience not to be forgotten. Left me speechless.
Took the chance last weekend to put my new Forager Bandana to the test. We found huckleberries, stinging nettle and cattails. Not too bad! Very happy with this new design! Click the link in our profile to grab one.
I took my 3 year old daughter on her first overnight backpacking trip last weekend. Looking forward to many more, teaching her the ways of the woods. She's a natural! 😁 #iwokeuplikethis
Our Fly Fishing Knots bandana showed up in a photo with a pretty awesome setup from the people at @sandisacult yesterday. Good company to be in 😁. Thanks @dpetrzelka for the shot!
