"Thatâs probably not a bad idea." Jane mused. "Being late on the first day when youâre actually working, is probably going to be frowned upon."
"Youâre not going to be late. It doesnât start until nine. Itâs onlyâŚeight now." Joan said. "Do you know your way around it?"
"At the actual university, I do have a pretty good grasp of where things are, yes" Jane replied with a small laugh. "Thank god for that!"Â

"Lady Sigyn?" Jane asked softly "Are you looking for something?"
Loki had been wandering about the realm, finding slight fascination with the world of Midgard. Though, not enough for him to admit to it. He chose to keep his thoughts more confined, but if inquiries were necessary, in example, how to use a perplexing contraption, heâd do so. Jane was a bit insane to allow him into her home, but then again, so was he. Instead of questioning her actions and choices, he acknowledged them, and quietly appreciated her acts of kindness. It was no secret why Thor had admired her so much.
Upon entering, he set aside his over coat, and pulled the scarf loose from his neck. London had terrible weather, the sun had rarely been spotted, and it was crowded. He could hear the bickering of distaste from commoners of the land. They all seemed to complain so much, and regard one another with strong displeasure. It wasnât anything Loki could complain about himself, after all, he was a prince, now living with a Midgardian. The reason he had landed here in the first place was all due to his actions, though he lacked conviction.
"Yes, Ms. Foster." Loki muttered, now pulling the leather gloves from his hands. He took a quick stride across the room, and sat on the sofa, picking up the book that had laid beside on the coffee table. "I have arrived. Was there something you needed me for?" he called out from the main room, skimming through each page carefully.
"No" Jane replied quickly. "I just wanted to see if that was you." She stared at the papers she had dropped on the desk, trying to decide if she though they were worth actually spending anymore time and energy on. Ultimately though, she decided against it. Choosing rather to put them off until tomorrow, or the next day, or whenever she got around to doing them again.Â
She sighed, dropping her shoulders, as she headed out of her lab and into the small house that she'd learned to call home for the past year. Loki was sprawled out on the couch, reading as he often did when he was actually home. Jane thought that when he was reading he seemed the most at peace. That perhaps the simple action of flipping between the pages of book is what stilled his rage. But Jane shook her head, ridding herself of those thoughts, and tearing her eyes from him. Those thoughts were folly, foolish. They served no good.Â
Jane slunk into the kitchen, pulling a box of tea from her cupboard, and grabbing the kettle of of the counter, filling it with water, then setting it onto the burner. She ran her fingers through her tangled hair as she waited for the kettle to whistle. Letting her know that the water inside it was heated and ready for her use. "Loki?" she called out again. "You up for some tea, or would you prefer coffee or something else?

"Agent Hill?" Jane questioned, her brows furrowing into a tight knot "I don't suppose you're coming here to give me good news for once, are you?"

"Iâm afraid I donât quite know what that means." Astrophysicist? That was certainly one of the stranger things she had ever heard.Â
"Astrophysics?" Jane asked, a brow quirked. "Simply, it's the study of celestial objects, like the things they're made of, their interactions and behaviors.
"So, is it far to the university from here?" Jane questioned, walking in step with Joan. "Or is it going to be a bit of a long walk?"
"Itâs a ten minute walk. We could take a cab if youâd like?" Joan asked with a smile. "Might be better because weâll get there earlier."
"That's probably not a bad idea." Jane mused. "Being late on the first day when you're actually working, is probably going to be frowned upon."
He nodded and then shifted a little and took her in a little more. âItâs nice to meet you, too, Jane.â Clint realized he was proving to be a terrible host, but what could he do? He didnât know this woman that well, he was also not sure what exactly she wanted, so he couldnât exactly help her and get her off his hands faster⌠âSo, uhâŚis there anything I can help you with?â
Jane smiled, "I don't really think so, but is there a chance you'd know where SHIELD's supposed to bunk me?" She asked, shifting the weight of her back to the other shoulder.

"Oh! good!" Jane exclaimed, standing up and joining the mass of people who were waiting to get off the train.
Joan walked out onto the platform and slid her hands into her pockets. She smiled small at Jane and made her way up onto the street.
"So, is it far to the university from here?" Jane questioned, walking in step with Joan. "Or is it going to be a bit of a long walk?"

"Thank you." She said quietly before switching to a new topic. "Tell me of yourself Jane, Iâve heard much but who is to say that gossipers always tell the truth."Â
"There's not much to tell though, I'm afraid." Jane answered. "I'm an astrophysicist from Midgard, I'm entirely passionate about my career, and that leaves little room for anything else in my life."

"Yes Jane. It is I."
"Howâve you.. been?"
"Busy⌠I am sorry for that. How are you fairing?"
"I'm well. But I have missed you, Thor."
"Itâs in London. London, England?"
"Oh..How on Earth did I end up here?" Tess asked, curiously looking around.Â
"Tell me, how soon can I get to New York from here?"
"It's an overnight  fight I'm afraid."

"Iâm Jane Foster. Iâm sorry but I didnât catch your name?"
"ClintâŚBarton." He had almost forgotten his last name and he gave her a small, half-smile.
"Well it's nice to meet you Clint" Jane replied, a warm smile crossing her face.
Imagine if Jane had to pull him away, maybe he left something with him so he wasnât there alone.
Loki would almost flinch when the first tear fell on his face. As Thor whispers; 'I hope you're with Mother and that you find the peace you so desperately seek' Heâd shudder 'Sought'
'Would that I could take you with us, Brother'
And when theyâre gone Loki sits up "I thought they would never leave" But heâs shaken
"Iâd bet youâre right. But I must admit, Iâm not the best listener myself."
Joan chuckled and moved to glance at the station. âThis is our stop.â
"Oh! good!" Jane exclaimed, standing up and joining the mass of people who were waiting to get off the train.
