The day I stopped explaining myself, life became quieter. I no longer feel the need to prove my character to people committed to misunderstanding it. I don’t chase approval. I don’t argue with assumptions. I don’t carry responsibility for stories I never wrote. If someone chooses to see the worst in me, that choice belongs to them. My energy is better spent building a life than defending one. Time has a way of exposing intentions, revealing character, and settling arguments that words never could. So I let people choose what they believe. I simply make sure that when I lay my head down at night, I can respect the person I was that day. Everything else is noise.
