Page 3 is currently in the ink stage and I’m trying to work on a goal of 1 hour of work per day on a page minimum instead of aiming for a particular upload date. This will be especially important as I try to finish up commissions on main as well before the semester starts and while school is in session that way I can balance time for studying with bringing you guys more content and completing client orders. I’ll still be working my regular job on weekends with a couple Saturdays off in September for field trips, however the heck those are going to play out with current events. I thank you for your patience and hope to have the page out soon.
Have we waited long enough? Trust me, I’m mad at myself that it took this long. And I better kick it into high gear with the semester beginning in a couple weeks.

Not exactly morning anymore where I’m at but whatever. Sketch of our brains and brawn, our beauty and the beast, the dynamic duo, Esther and Rylan to get going.
Alt. title “Don’t tell me what to do.”
Next page should be up by the end of the month, please bear with me
And the first page is up! Navigation will be posted with each update and previous entries will be edited to link to the next page when its available.

Heyyyyyyyyy I made a poster yesterday and finally scanned it in. You may save it to your computer and print it out to put up just about anywhere.
For Comet’s Light, I plan for there to be serious villains and some fun villains. Roxy is one of the fun villains.
At least now I’m fully functional again. Planning on getting tonight’s assignment taken care of, rooting through my boxes to make sure I have the physical copy of a commission with me when I go hang out with a friend tomorrow before he moves to Florida, maybe watching a couple episodes of OG PPG and playing Sonic, and working some more on a Comet’s Light page and another commission in the queue.
so does Roxy have a collection of furbies? I'm just asking out of curiosity
Furbies, Beanie Babies, if it was a fad in the 1990s, she’s got it. I’m pretty sure she has a sentient army of them.
A sketchpile of Comet’s Light stuff. From quirks to ideas of character relations, to potential chapter material.
Characters include: Rylan
A Toadie
Esther’s cat, Monty
The Cober Sisters, Ivy and Mariquita
Esther
Roxy Fresh
A Furby
Addyr
Valtronica
Princess Starlight
Arsenal
Maximus Velus
Dr. Slick Chavez
Bettigan Royale
I think this looks pretty good
I’ll get to the character that prompted the massive overhaul of this project, but until then how about our main leads?
In the original iteration that was All-Star Alpha, I wanted it to focus on a team of six leads in a Superhero AU crossover, which consisted of Elsa from Frozen, Maxie and Archie from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Equius from Homestuck, Jak from the Jak and Daxter series, and a gijinka of the Pokemon Espurr. However, given how many characters that was to focus on and additional characters that could be found around the city, plus with more and more influences coming in, it quickly became too much to handle and put that incarnation on the backburner indefinitely. When I decided to return to this project following an interesting dream that introduced a new character, I cut the number of leads down to two and took the ones I stuck with to make new ones for the Comet’s Light iteration.
Esther Jones (top) was taken from the gijinka and reworked to make it less glaring, but still reflecting magical girl protagonists with wild hair and the origin of her powers still being from birth.
Rylan Evans (bottom) was originally going to be Jak in ASA but was reworked into someone influenced by the games throughout his life until experiencing some uncomfortably similar events that gave him the Vesper transformation.
I may have to do some sketchdumps or get on the ball with pages to fully exhibit what they’re like.
I don’t know how many would be interested in reading this, but I’m going to try and launch an original comic series. It’s been on my mind for a while and I’ve thought of trying to make it my primary job if it can surpass what I make working retail. The biggest challenge was trying to nail down what idea I wanted to go with as an original concept and not part of an existing fanon. As much as I want to work on the plot of Boss English, Lucius, and the others in that group, it’s also designed too much to intertwine with the universe of Cuphead that breaking it off would mean some plot threads won’t work as intended. Alternately, I’ve thought of splitting Montana Davy and other characters in that neck of the woods off into their own property since they don’t have much to do with the Cupheadverse to begin with and the changes would be easier to make that leap. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to maintain inspiration on it as long as I’ve wanted to and while Wyoming and Colorado offer plenty of inspiration, I just happen to live in one of the most BORING parts of either state, my mom’s house isn’t much better, and visits to my dad’s house are so few and far between that it might as well not happen. Not helping is I still have memory of that backhanded compliment and working nights in retail means I’m not going outside anyway if at all. So, the only option left was to take a project I was previously working on, gutting it of any preexisting characters to make way for original characters, retooling the leads, altering the story into something new, and building upon this new incarnation called Comet’s Light.
The basic premise is two college students gain Essence Stones that amplify powers they currently possess and use their new super powered formes to fight crime in Aurora City. As the series goes on, more will be revealed about the origins of the stones, many villains introduced, and our leads deciding whether to accept a bigger fate that lies ahead tied to their powers. I’ll likely make a separate blog page for this comic and some character designs are still being finalized. In the meantime, enjoy this cover I made for it colored with watercolors.
