While adding his entire discography to one playlist (Spotify, get you shit together and let me play discographies front to back) I had to stop an re-evaluate my knowledge because I thought I saw a song by SXMPRA posted in 2006.

Here’s how my thoughts went:

“… 2006? He’s been putting out music for twenty fuckingy years? Oh my god, this playlist is going to be huge… “

“Wait… how old is he?! I was under the assumption he’s younger than I am? Could he really be like 50? No fucking way…”

Pause for Google search time.

“… He was born in 2000…. There’s no way there was a song posted from 2006…”

“Could you imagine it though? Little baby SXMPRA ‘Mom I can’t be grounded! I need studio time! My mix tape drops next Friday before school!’”

Soooooo needless to say I love leos and today was a joyous day for my multifaceted fandom happiness levels.

Put on a bass heavy song at full blast while driving home. Yes please. I need to feel the bass rattling my ribs thank-you-very-much.

Am I incredibly aware of the contradiction that is sound being my biggest sensory trigger but I also want soul shattering bass when overstimulated to help regulate? Yes. But I don’t question what the gremlins in my brain want anymore, I just go with it.

Ngl I’m overwhelmed.

First I found a new artist, SXMPRA, that’s threatening a hyperfixation take over.

Then Istasha drops a new song which is fantastic the same day as Arankai which is also fantastic. I’m just sitting over here trying to ping pong between these 3 when I wake up to remember…

Stray Kids dropped This & That today. Oh, and the Mountain Goats also released a new album today.

So I’m relatively new to the underground dark trap rap scene… but one thing that’s quickly becoming my favorite thing is the like… rapper tags? I don’t know if that’s the right word but it’s the little clip they play at the start of a bunch (if not all) of their songs.

So far I’ve picked up these ones:
