What's with the antennae on the bottom of comicron one?

The towers serve a multitude of functions, primarily focused around shielding and communications. In the shielding department, it’s what projects out the regular shields of the ship as well as the temporal and dimensional ones when travelling into different universes. They also serve as power external sensors usually used for planetary survey when searching for the Entity (or at least that’s what they served for when Vyce had the ship).
