A dry laugh comes out of his lips at Levi's offer, it sounds more like a warning than anything else. It doesn't matter what it happens between them, there's things that will never change.
The reassurance on his stub makes him react however.
"I think I just need time to adjust, I can't recover as quickly as I used to, old bones aren't the same" he kisses Levi's eyelids a he continues "I've made you do terrible things these last days, I wonder if the cadets and you will forgive me".
He still remembers the police's kicks, their spit on his face, the threats against them.
"Your right hand man, Levi, we will capture him"
"Your eyes and arms are all over the place, Erwin. Kids with brilliant futures and bloody paths"
"Would you put children on your way?"
"What would your successor do in your place if we send her your head on a plate?"
The warmth of Levi's body brings him back to reality.
"Believe me, you'll have to tie me to a horse if you want to move me" another dry laughter and his eyes, even shining with love, are tired "I don't think I can stand for a while"
He rests his lips on his neck and let his mouth make a path on each small detail of his jaw and lips, the thick neck and behind the ears, enjoying the exhales from his lover.
"I missed you too, I missed you so much"
His hand grabs the cheeks over the clothes and yes, the curve is still there, lighting the ashes on his belly.
