those types of stan twitter accounts are both very annoying and very sad because they're putting so much of their self worth in the hands of people they don't even REALISTICALLY know. I rabbit holed into a kurtis conner fan account and they were seriously having a fit worrying that kurtis didn't care about them. It was...wow. They seriously need therapy and I'm not saying that in a mocking way. That kind of behavior and thinking NEEDS to be checked out. Not healthy.

I agree!!!! Its super sad, and unfortunately I feel like modern stan twitter and tumblr really do drive the desire for attention into a really unhealthy way. Its so easy to feel like you know a creator personally through things like social media and stuff, when in reality thats not even a close to the truth!!! Your favorite content creators arent your friends, and thats ok!! And if you are freaking out that much abt them not knowing who you are/not caring about you then like high key its time to step off the computer and social media and talk to someone, bc that behavior is toxic for you and toxic for creators!!!

I couldn’t have said it better myself! All three parties worded this amazingly. When I started my blog a couple months ago, I made it a point to myself to make a “mission statement” of sorts, which is that my goal is to share my favorite moments from different videos and make it easier for people to share them online. This prevents me from falling into the trap of wanting to gain followers solely to get recognition from the content creators (although that would be a cool side effect). It’s never healthy to obsess over someone. Ever. And like the second anon said, it’s damaging to the creator themselves, so fans have to be careful of getting so attached.
