thinking about art history as a story told about what materials for art making are readily available at the time an art work is made. like how greek attic painters hadn't yet developed oil painting, so most of what we consider a definitive greek art is on pottery, which was readily available at the time. and how oil paints became readily accessible in europe around the renaissance, so most of that period of art is associated with oil paintings. and how jackson pollock used house paint, and andy warhol's whole ethos was about machines, and how now it's so much easier to make digital art than ever, and how if the greek attic painters had ipads, they'd probably use procreate too

Even if Minimum wage jobs were just for teenagers that wouldn't justify such low wages. Call me crazy but if a child can work like an adult and puts in the amount of effort and responsibility of an adult and is expected to work as intensely as an adult would. They should get paid like an adult actually. It's so weird how in this country children are expected to face the burdens of adulthood and be ok with having none of the rights of adulthood.
