Genuine question: does everyone really struggle with motivation and lack of inspiration or am I just broken?

I keep saying that I want to draw more, create more, but when I actually sit down to try, my mind is blank and I end up doing nothing for ages. I think I have a fear of the blank page, but also a fear of doing something "wrong" or "bad" (which is so stupid because there is no such thing as "bad art"). I have spent at least six years of my life "studying" art, I have had to follow a brief for every assignment, surely I should not struggle as much as I am.

Do I just need to get over myself or am I genuinely cooked??

I had went through a big Ateez phase there recently (it's not a phase, I love them, I just loved them very passionately for a while lol), but then started to get back into Lucy. Decided I'd rewatch a lot of their content from the start and I would highly recommend it. Nah that type of song is the best! As much as I love a song to get me hyped, I also love the ones that make me fall to my knees with some sort of emotion (until the end of time by xdinary heroes I'm looking at u). I loved the Gwangil references 😭😭 Did you see clips from the military concert they played together? It was so nice to see them all together again!

Sequel oh my goodness. I literally just listened to it (and then had to follow up with prequel) and I'm in my feels now. Honestly what do these artists put in their music to make me feel so emotional??

it's really nice so far! it does need to be tuned in january and doesn't sound quite as good as it did when i tried it since it got transported on a VERY cold wet rainy day but its going alright <3 its so freaking pretty just to look at tbh :') very happy we were able to get it :D

sequel and prequel my loves </3 i was honestly surprised how much i listened to prequel this year its not one of the first songs that come to my mind when i think of fav lucy songs but its on a lot of my playlists so it comes on a lot (and ofc i never skip it)

also when looking up the lyrics to lucy songs or watching live performances w the lyrics i get so emo cause why are they always telling a whole story w it :((( and its always so heart wrenching ughhh i love them

I'm glad you like it! Out of curiosity, how often does a piano need tuned? Is it like other string instruments where they need tuned regularly or would it be more sturdy, maybe only when it's really damp or cold? I always love the idea of owning a grand piano, mainly just for the looks because I don't know how to play it ahaha. My mum and I are seriously considering going halfers on a harp, but knowing us it would end up as decoration lol

Oh I'm the same! I listened to most of their old stuff, but then haven't really listened to anything after deadlock (apart from troubleshooting! That was one of my top albums of '25). I'm the opposite with Day6, I think I'm pretty up to date with their new stuff, but I haven't listened to half of their older stuff lol. I'm not particularly good at actually exploring an artist's full discography (I'm ashamed to say that Ha Hyunsang falls into this, I have great intentions but never follow through)

Ahhhhhh CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉 I'm so proud of you!! That is so exciting!! I understand why you'd be nervous, but hopefully you'll have the best time! I went the long and unconventional way to getting my degree (which I'll not bore you with unless you're actually interested lol), but that meant I stayed at home. My friends who did have the "proper" uni experience all loved it and had good things to say about it!

My brother actually moved to Canada in November which was pretty cool. He was looking houses over here, couldn't find anything and then sort of went "stuff it, I'm just going to go to Canada". He was definitely a bit stressed before (it was his first international flight ), but it all turned out fine, so hopefully it will for you too!!

(I am once again reminded of how jealous I am that you not only got to see Lucy live, but also managed to get Yechan's bow??)
