With  Dex  always  being  out  these  days,  Ana  had  been  attempting  to  be  productive.  Though  attempting  was  more  or  less  the  keyword.  They  made  some  TikToks,  did  a  livestream,  and  decided  that  pizza  and  company  would  be  the  best  way  to  end  the  day.

Walking  up  to  @completemesses's  door,  Ana  knocked.  Once  he  had  opened  the  door,  Ana  offered  up  the  piping  hot  box  of  pizza."Pizza  delivery."  They  chimed,  flashing  him  a  smile,  "I  am  expecting  a  big,  hard  tip."  They  purred,  winking  playfully.  Of  course,  they  didn't  really  expect  anything.  It  was  just,  if  there  was  room  reference  bad  pornos,  they  just  had  to  seize  the  opportunities  when  they  presented  themselves.

Keegan takes the pizza as it's offered & balances it in one hand, his other hand grasping at the door to hold it open for them. He gives them a once over & his mouth twists with mild amusement, eyebrows quirking slightly. "I'm sure we could arrange something." He's teasing back, but there's an offer there regardless. There always is with him. the door is shut behind Ana & Keegan leads the way into the living room to place the box down onto the coffee table. It's littered with his smoke supplies & a baggy of pills. He had other plans for the night, but he doesn't mind sharing. "You wanna smoke?" He asks & takes a seat back onto the couch, sitting on the edge to work on packing the bong like he'd been doing before they arrived.

She was a brick house of a woman, wobbling on her feet, looking to all the world like someone who'd had too much to drink. It wasn't obvious on first glance, but if someone looked too long, they'd notice a subtle, unnatural glow about her eyes as she squeezed them shut and open again, trying to will away the vertigo. It was too cold up here, and too quiet. Where were the screams of the damned? The wicked laughter of devils?

Nan. Her name was Nan. She groaned, stumbling forward, following the scent of a nearby devil. "Hey..." The woman before her was tiny, with an angelic face but a wicked aura looming over her shoulders. A devil if Nan ever saw one. "Hey, d'you know where we are? What's this place?"

Seraphina looks as miserable as she feels. the color is draining from her skin, her makeup is doing a good enough job at covering the bags under her eyes, but she feels exhausted down to the bone. This deal she's made isn't all that she thought it'd be. She hadn't accounted for just how frequently she'd need to feed on someone, or the cleanup that comes after. It's a lot harder to do under a spotlight. not that she regrets it, but she's allowed to complain.

It's why she finds herself out again tonight. Less focused on enjoying herself & getting paparazzi shots taken & more focused on finding someone who looks as if they wouldn't be missed.

Her eyes lift to the stranger when she approaches & Seraphina's taken aback, though it doesn't show on her face. She hadn't expected to meet another devil, let alone be able to see them in the way that she can. Another perk of sharing her body, she presumes. "Los Angeles." She answers plainly, studying over the woman that towers over her. "You've never been here before?"

The small child wandered through the grocery store, a package of sour patch gummies in her hands as she approached the first person she could find. Unaware of the social status of the person she approached, Aubrey reached up and tugged on the hem of the person's shirt, eyes wide with worry and wet with unshed tears as her lower lip wobbles.

"I can't find my mama," she states, hugging her gummy treat to her chest.

Off a few isles down, Emma was frantic with worry. "Aubrey!" her voice calls out, hoping beyond anything that her daughter would be able to hear her. Though the chances were low, considering Aubrey was deaf in one ear, and Emma knew that. Abandoning her cart, Emma ran through the isles, frantically looking up and down each isle before turning and backtracking to look the opposite direction

It's not often that beck goes out grocery shopping mostly by himself. The days of simplicity have long since passed. No trip out into the world was without being noticed anymore. Atlas Falls had made too much of a name for themselves & Beck's name has been trashed for months across the internet thanks to Keegan. He doesn't really care about that. He'd rather it be his name than River's, & it's never Keegan who has to pay for the shit he causes. He's already gotten a few glances in his direction since he walked through the door ten minutes ago & part of him is beginning to regret trying to pretend to be a normal guy when he feels the tug on his shirt. His attention is pulled from the shelf to the small child & concern sets before anything else.

"How about we go find her?" He offers the child a friendly smile & holds his hand out for her to take hold of, leading her out of the aisle. Beck's eyes dart around the store for an employee who could maybe offer some help when he catches sight of the panicked figure. That might be a start. He walks as quick as he can, calling out to the woman before she can disappear from the aisle he stands at the end of. "I think I found someone that belongs to you." words are accompanied by a laugh & beck lets go of her hand to allow the child to run back to her mother. "Wait... I know you, right?"

"you know there's food in the fridge," blake said, tone dry. because there always was. he'd made sure of it, like clockwork, every thursday. he didn't buy the shit for himself. it was all for theo, even if he pretended it wasn't. but hospital-grade bags probably weren't what theo meant. with certain people, there was subtext, and then there was theo, who wore his hunger in plain sight. never subtle, never clever.

he slouched further and rested an arm along the back of the couch, stretching fingers that still had blood under the nail from the night before. didn't matter how often he scrubbed, it lingered. "do you want it warm or cold this time?"

Theo rolls his eyes & scoffs playfully. That's not the kind of food he was talking about & they both know it. Blood bags are nothing more than a light snack for him. One taste & he wants more & more & more. He could drink a whole hospital's worth of those things & not come close to touching that hunger that festers inside of him. The stuff straight from the veins never does much of the job neither. His fangs can sink down to the bone & he can swallow more flesh than blood & he still can't find the satisfaction in it. He must be broken. Made wrong or somethin'. He's never seen nobody else struggle the way he does.

He shifts again & closes the distance between the two of them, casually tossing his leg over Blake's to draw himself into his side. His chin rests against his shoulder & he nuzzles his face into the crook of his neck, head tipping just enough to let his nose brush against his jugular. Maybe taking a bite outta him would do the trick for a little while. "I want it real warm," His voice is just loud enough for him to hear him, almost a breath against his neck that his lips ghost against. "Y'know I don't like when it's all cold. Tastes like bad leftovers." His mouth curves with a pout, his hand beginning to explore from Blake's abdomen up toward his chest. "Why don't we go out?"

“beck    —    baby, aren’t you tired of not bringing it up?”    there’s this tired sigh that leaves chloe. it makes her shoulders fall, her lip nearly quivers. she’s in love, and she can’t say it. she’s in love but can’t do anything because of a contract. she’s in love, she’s in love, she’s in love. she’s supposed to gain fame, notoriety, be tied to a band full of pretty people ; atlas falls, keegan, gets to clean up his image and look wholesome at chloe’s cost. and here she is, hands shaking, the taste of beck’s kiss lingering, while his smell clings to her clothes. out there : there’s cameras waiting, there’s some industry event going on, there’s a carpet rolled out, there’s way too much. she wants to have her hand in beck’s, not standing with her manicured nails holding a clutch while keegan smiles and waves.    “i can’t keep hiding. i don’t even care about the politics of it all. i just can’t stand it. i hate pretending.”

Isn't he tired of not bringing it up? Of course he fucking is. He wants to scream it from the rooftops. Write another billion cheesy love songs that don't quite fit the vibe of the band. Post the photos that litter his camera roll until the fans are sick of him being in love. He can't think about the reality of this without getting pissed off. Why is it always Keegan? It's always fucking Keegan. Always fucking up, always needing another out, another mess cleaned up after him. He gets a clean image & Chloe gets tied to the worst man alive. It's great for Keegan & fucking sucks for everyone else, which is usually how it goes with him.

Beck is beyond over it.

His hand shakes with the rage that begins to simmer beneath the surface & he curls his fingers into his palm, letting out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. Blue eyes flicker over to her & a frown settles onto his features, a step toward her taken. His fingers brush the side of her hand before he decides he doesn't really give a shit back here & takes hold of it, bringing it up to his lips to press a kiss to her knuckles.

"I know." He sighs again, his thumb stroking her hand gently as he continues to hold it. "But there's a contract and a bigger mess waiting on the other side if we throw it away now. I don't want that for you." Keegan would be the victim. Beck would be the bad guy who stole his girl. A lot of bullshit that he's already over before it's even began. He doesn't care if his name is tarnished for the umpteenth time, but he doesn't want Chloe to be caught in all of it.

"It's just a few hours tonight and then you're all mine." Beck grins, but it doesn't touch his eyes in the way it usually does. He's tired & they both know it.
