French architect David Tajchman recently released a conceptual design for a skyscraper to be built in Tel Aviv, Israel. The sky scrapper would house everything that a small community would have from automated parking garage to bars, restaurants, and even a farming space.

From Day to Night: China Merchants Tower

Rising high in Shenzhen, China Merchants Tower features a curtain wall clad in a system of horizontal glass fins and vertical aluminum struts, giving the facade a fine-grained texture while balancing slenderness generated by the tower’s verticality. During the day, the fins reduce solar gain, while at night, they refract artificial light to illuminate the skyscraper’s form. This works in conjunction with the top of the tower – its signature element – to make the building read as a beacon across Shenzhen. Learn more

The Silo in Copenhagen, Denmark - COBE

The transformed silo will become a natural point of orientation in Copenhagen’s new neighborhood Nordhavnen. The demands for storage and handling of grain has led to magnificent spatial variation floor by floor. This will result in 40 different apartments, stacked on top of each other within the existing silo structure. In addition, public functions are located on the top and bottom floors to ensure a multi-dimensional experience for the various users of the building. The Silo will thus be inhabited, but at the same time also be a destination for all Copenhageners; a kind of urban silo.
