Going to a Shawn Mendes concert in the summer.... Any tips and such? The only concert I've been to before is the big ticket summer concert (don't judge me it's weird I know😂) Will this be different? I feel so clueless going into this, I need some guidance :))

I'm the last person to judge about concerts I've been to some interesting ones in my dayFirst of all if it's outside make sure you- dress appropriate for the weather - have water with you ( as a nurse we've seen lots of dehydrated concert goers in the summer, stay hydrated)- don't bring a lot of crap with you to weigh your bag down- keep some money in your bag and some on your person in case some gets lost/stolenMake sure you're well versed on the lyrics and anyone incredibly important to the band/performer in case you run into them before the show, I've run into Big Rob (Jonas brothers), Kat Gilbride (Honor Society), Rob Dyer, and Matt Flyzik ( All Time Low), and many more, never hurts to leave a good impression with the behind the scenes crew cause it can help you out in the long run, I've been let into sound checks I didn't have tickets for, because of acknowledging the crew.Hope some of that helped, feel free to ask away any more, I'm kind of flying by the seat of my pants here not knowing the venue of the show you're going to

Hey, next week is my first real concert and it´s all standing and sold out.I need my phone and money but I´ve no idea of where to put it. I really don´t want to take a bag with me and the pockets of the jacket I want to wear are too small to fit anything in them. It would be really nice if you could help me with some tips♥

Best option is a satchel or a shoulder bag, they're the easiest to pack and you don't have to constantly be throwing it back over your shoulder like a regular purse, but it still has enough room to put anything you need it in, I put it over my shoulder and leave the actual bag portion in front of me cause that way I know no one can get into it. I'm assuming you're a lady here but putting stuff in your bra while convenient can easily get uncomfortable and fall out, dropping a phone or money in a crowd is a death sentence for said item, you'll be lucky to retrieve it once it's on the floor. I have tried to do both and by far a shoulder bag is the way to go

It's totally safe to go alone. Just seriously watch your drink, don't drink it if you've left it alone on a bar, etc. That's the main concern imo

Very true! Concerts in bars while fun are risky if you're alone . Never ever ever leave a drink unattended and have a plan to get home if you are drinking

Is it safe to go alone to a concert? It's my first time and my friends don't really like the band I'm seeing so none of them are going.

If it's your first time going to a concert ever than if suggest taking a friend, if it's not your first concert it shouldn't be a problem to head for it solo just remember to take your cell phone with you and have it charged in case you need to get a hold of a friend. And if you're planning on waiting outside before the show ( I'm not sure who you're going to see), you can easily make friends with other people in the line/crowd, I've done it more than once some of my best friends are fellow concert mates I met in line So yeah go have a great time, just don't leave with strangers and keep your phone on you just in case you need to call a friend

Im going to a 5 Seconds of Summer concert and I have tickets for the sound check and Q&A. What would be some good questions to ask the boys?

Try to think of anything original, skip favourite colours and inspiration questions guaranteed the boys have heard them a million times, be a bit cheeky if you can, if you're nervous about forgetting your question always write it down in your phone or on a paper you'll have with youNever hurts to suggest a local attraction or restaurant for them to try if they get the chance Promotes local business and they'll think of you for suggesting it if they goNow I'm not a huge 5SOS fan but I do enjoy their music so bear with me if any of these are common knowledge Some fun question examples could be 1- if they've ever named their instruments, if so how did they acquire such a name2- any crazy tour injury or prank stories that fans don't already know3- craziest delicacy they've tried while touring4- if they could collaborate on a song who would they choose and why.5- if they have any attraction or restaurant recommendations for anyone traveling to Australia to look up or to try Hope this has helped a little, have a fantastic time! Advice on going to concert with your crush?

Depends on how photo crazy you are, for me concerts with crushes are a bad idea because I usually come home with a few hundred photos, kills the mood if you're obsessively taking photos but if you aren't photo crazy at concerts with crushes are fantastic, those slow jams are the perfect opportunity to lean in to them or the opportunity for a kiss and it makes for a great story

hi! this might be a little weird, but I am extremely scared of getting sick at my concert, though I will probably end up fine. its in june. idk why but im just worried in general and i have asked my sisters on tips and i told them how nervous i was and they said it was stupid. im just really nervous

Hi sorry I suck at checking these messages! But the best trick to not getting sick at concerts is to stay hydrated especially at summer concerts, for future reference take two water bottles have one frozen so you have cold water all day at the ice melts and brig snacks granola bars can do wonders with taking the edge off when you start getting woozy from being excited and standing in the heat of a crowd

Crowd surfing for bigger people?

Honestly unless you're the one doing the crowd surfing, surfers suck, you get kicked in the head and it's hard to push them forward, but I have seen some people surfing the crowd that were on the very large end of the scale, if you want to give it a go, go nuts but just be prepared to have lots of people grab your bum and be prepared to potentially fall

15 more tricks to surviving in a crowd

1.Don't go on an empty stomach! The last thing you want to be worrying about half way through the show is how hungry you are.

2. Know the band members names (including openers) Nothing is worse then meeting them after a show and not knowing their name.

3.When security offers water TAKE SOME, it's so refreshing, open your mouth and they'll spray water right into your mouth 

4.Ladies don't take huge purses, bring something small enough to fit all your shit, and across the shoulder bags are perfect because you don't have to fight to keep it on your shoulder all night.

5.If you're planning on getting tickets at the door arrive early! to make sure you have tickets. Just cause you're in a shirt that barely cover your boobs, doesn't mean they'll let you in anyways.

6. Do not wear flip flops! It doesn't matter if it's an outdoor concert in 100 degree weather, you're feet will get stepped on!

7. Wear something functional! Do you really want your boob popping out in front of people you don't know? Avoid shorts so short we can see your ass, it's not attractive. You will get sweaty, theres no denying it! so light and airy clothes are best.

8. Learn at least some of the music for the openers a head of time.

9. Have your camera in your hands & ready to go before the show starts, once 'the wave' gets going, it's nearly impossible to get into your bag.

10. You will be standing for a while. Sore feet are a quick way to ruin your night so wear comfortable shoes, people don't want to hear you bitching about how sore your feet are! 

11. Make friends with the right people. Such as The crew - security, managers, merch, sound guys...

12. Bring your own sharpie! Band members rarely have them on their person.

13. Most merch tables accept cash only, hit up an ATM before the show. Wait and get merch after the show, once you get in get as close to the front as you can, don't worry about merch till the end.

14. Don't panic when meeting the band members! They are people too, if you're worried think of a question ahead of time so you have something on hand to say.

15. Bring extra batteries - nothing sucks more then being half way through a show and having your camera die, have them out of a the packaging and in your pockets in case you need to change them in a hurry.

Tips for surviving in a crowd if you’re short

If you’re short listen up! Being my grand height of 5”1 i’ve got a few tricks for you to have the best concert experience you can! You can get pretty thrown around and come home with some battle wounds, but knowing some little tricks can help you make it out unscathed!

1. It’s impossible to see through people, so GET THERE EARLY, and get yourself as close to the front as possible.

2. Be ready for “The Wave”! It will come, brace yourself as much as you can, once you lose your footing you’re fair game..

3. When you hear “CROWD SURFER” Duck! When you see security getting ready to pull them down, unless you are way over 5”8 just cover your head, do NOT try and push them forward, everyone else will do that for you. Getting kicked in the head hurts like hell and sometimes results in security hauling you out of the crowd.

4. If security tries to lift you out don’t fight it! They probably just saw you take a kick to the head from a crowd surfer, and know you more then likely have a concussion.

5. If you lose the person you went with, don’t waste time worrying, or trying to find them, you’re too short to see them, you have cell phones you can find them after the show.

6. Don’t apologise every time you bump into someone. Are people apologising to you? besides they can’t hear you anyway.

7. Use your elbows to move through crowds! When you’re short your elbows are perfect rib height for most people! Use them, and make it to the front alot faster.

8. Play the sweet & innocent ‘I’m short and can’t see’ card, it just might work to get tall people to let you infront of them.

9. Look UP! It gets super stuffy and disgustingly sweaty and when you’re getting squished breathing becomes an issue, look up, you’ll get a nice gulp of fresh air.

10. Don’t start talking shit. If you can’t defend yourself, because people will throw punches no matter how small you are.

11. Be prepared to come home with battle wounds! You will get shoved, hit, kicked, and stepped on, expect some sore-ness and bruises the following morning.

12. Don’t take peoples shit because you’re little. They’ll try and throw you around; stand your ground and use your voice we may be little, but we will be heard.

13. Security are friends not enemies, they are there for your safety so don’t piss them off. Yeah they’re in some of your photos but they’re there to help.

14. Hair doesn’t matter! Ladies dont spend forever doing your hair, throw it up in pony tail or messy bun, it’s off your neck and you can redo it easily. If it’s down it will get caught on other peoples hands, especially if they have rings or bracelets.

15. Have a great fucking time.
