Mediocre Morgan || Gerome & Morgan
Fantastic? "Absolutely not!" Gerome about shouted. It was a surprise that Morgan had managed to say so much before the wyvern rider cut him off.
"I have never seen an accessory so foolish in my life. We are in a war, and you wasted your money on purchasing a pair for all of us rather than using it for more important reasons such as weapons and armor? How idiotic can you possibly be!?"
Embarrassing as it was, Morgan couldn't help but flinch when Gerome raised his voice. He'd managed to talk for so long, it was a shock to be interrupted to suddenly. The boy frowned and pulled off the glasses, folding them up before carefully putting them in his pocket.
"It... It wasn't a waste of money! You and Lucina and everyone--none of you ever smile properly. I know I don't remember what the future was like, and I know that--sometimes, that's a blessing," his voice shook as he spoke while looking Gerome in the eyes (or, well, where his eyes should have been). This was audacious of him to speak like this to someone who had obviously lost so much. But he couldn't just stay silent, either.
"But--what's the point of making so many sacrifices--of fighting everyday--if you can't be happy at the end of it? Y-You can't just let war consume you like this. It's important to be serious and knowing the consequences of your actions, but what's more important is knowing when to--let loose for a bit... Y-You know?"
