trying again. ➳ barrow & julius
{ ➳ } It's hard when you lose your first husband. It's very difficult to adjust when you're a single mother, even if it's only for a short period of time. Almost two days have passed since the first packed and left and she hasn't heard any news of receiving a second husband of any kind. It's fine, she thinks. Everything is going to be fine in the end, is what she tells herself. It's not her fault that this happened. Someone new will arrive soon and then their family of two will be once again bumped up to three. Everything is fine. Patience is a virtue, but she can't help but feel a little nervous about meeting somebody new again.
She'll survive though, and perhaps this one would be better than the first. Or at least that's what she tells herself as she walks back to her assigned apartment now. That child must be lonely always being home by himself as she works, but there's not much she can do about that. Up the stairs she walks, until finally she comes to her apartment door. She's hesitant, but proceeds to pull out her key and open the door. Once inside, she wastes no time in calling her son's name, just to make sure he's here. ❝ Barrow? ❞ she calls, but no answer is given back to her. He must've been in his room. ❝ Barrow, listen to me when I ca-- ❞ It is only now that she takes a moment to look to her left.
There, seatedly comfortably on the couch in their lounge is a man. She's startled at first and moves slowly, she has no idea who he could be until it dawned on her that he must be her newly assigned significant other. Hands now move to her chest as she tries to her best to calm down, so she can speak. ❝ You just scared me half to DEATH. ❞ Anger was apparent as she moves to stand in front of him now, red hair swishing as she moves.
❝ You are who I think you are, right? ❞
