Today we're moving our gas kiln to be more centrally located between the production studio and the teaching studio. When we installed the kiln nine years ago it was a huge step for use (both financially and in terms of committing to the space and the studio with an unknown future). To have to undo that work has made me a bit sentimental. Cone 11 Ceramics studio has been at The Abbotsford Convent @abbotsfordconvent for 9 years. In that time, (and with great support from The Abbotsford Convent) we've gone from a 50 square meter studio with 4 pottery wheels, 2 part time potters and 8 students to a 125 square meter studio with 2 full time potters, 2 part time teachers, 1 part time studio tech, 12 pottery wheels, a dedicated teaching studio, a separate production space, 45 students and 100's of amazing friends and supporters both locally and internationally.
