Due to the harassment we've all been seeing happening agaisnt predominantly female cardiophiles in the community, I'd like to share a few points that may be useful when dealing with shitheads.
āļø Main blog's and side blogs' blocklists are separate
This means: if your cardiophilia blog is a sideblog and not your main, you might want to go into its blog settings, scroll down to the "Blocked Tumblrs" section and add the shitheads' usernames there as well. Yes, it is annoying to do.
āļø When you block an anon, they show up in your blocklist
They are not as anonymous as they think they are. You can find out the account of the anonymous shithead by keeping track of the blocked users list when blocking anons from your inbox. Can be useful if you want to warn your cardiofriends or want to have a blocklist ready in case your account gets nuked.
āļø Reporting an anon automatically blocks them
You can always report an ask for harassment. Some have concerns about the senders just remaking accounts after deletion but I'll leave that for you to decide.
āļø Use the block button liberally
Even if the user is making you just a little uncomfortable, it is always okay to block them. Blocking is not a personal offense, it's a tool for curating your online experience. Normal people understand this. If being blocked is offensive to someone, they're probably a shithead. š¤·āāļø
āļø Apart from turning anons off, you might also make use of this toggle in blog settings:
āļø And while we're on it:
By looking up "revenge porn organization" you can find multiple helplines that deal with nonconsensual sharing of intimate images, such as StopNCII. Unlike Tumblr, they do keep everything anonymous.
