Leon Kennedy x Black wife pregnant reader
The comm crackled in Leonâs ear, static slicing through the heavy silence of the abandoned facility.
âLeon, you copy?â
No response.
He ducked behind a crumbling concrete wall just as another shot rang out, the bullet grazing his shoulder. He hissed under his breath, clutching the wound as blood seeped through his sleeve.
âShitâŠâ
He was outnumbered. Outgunned. And for the first time in a long time, Leon Kennedy was actually considering the possibility that he might not make it out.
Thenâ
A familiar voice cut through the comm, clear, calm⊠and laced with irritation.
âLeon S. Kennedy, if you donât answer me right now, I swear I will find you just to kill you myself.â
His breath caught.
ââŠBaby?â
A gunshot echoed from the other end, followed by a gruntânot his.
âI asked if you copy,â you snapped, slightly breathless.
Leonâs heart started pounding for an entirely different reason now. âYouâre not supposed to be here.â
âOh really?â you shot back. âBecause from the sound of things, you needed backup.â
Another set of footsteps approached his position. Leon steadied his pistol, ready to fireâ
Three quick shots rang out before he could even pull the trigger.
The bodies dropped.
And then you stepped into view.
Hair pulled back, tactical gear hugging your body, one hand steady on your weapon⊠the other instinctively resting on the curve of your six-month pregnant belly.
Leon froze.
ââŠYouâve got to be kidding me.â
You raised a brow. âMiss me?â
Before he could respond, you were already moving, scanning the area, completely unfazed.
Leon ran a hand through his hair, equal parts relieved and stressed out of his mind. âYou should not be in the field right now.â
âAnd you should not be getting shot at without me,â you countered smoothly, glancing at his shoulder. âYouâre bleeding.â
âIâve had worse.â
âMm-hm.â You stepped closer, eyes narrowing as you inspected it. âStill stupid.â
He huffed, but there was a softness in his gaze now. âYouâre unbelievable.â
âAnd you love me.â
ââŠYeah,â he admitted quietly. âI do.â
Before the moment could lingerâ
A slow clap echoed from the shadows.
âWell⊠isnât this domestic.â
Leonâs entire body tensed.
Ada.
She stepped into the dim light, red dress immaculate as ever, like she hadnât just walked through a war zone. Her eyes flicked between the two of you, lingering on you⊠and then your stomach.
âHow⊠unexpected.â
You tilted your head, unimpressed. âYou must be Ada.â
âAnd you must be the wife.â Ada smiled faintly, though there was something sharp behind it. âI was beginning to think Leon had made you up.â
Leon stepped slightly in front of you, instinctively protective. âAda, not now.â
But you placed a hand on his arm, gently moving him aside.
âOh, itâs fine,â you said sweetly, though your tone had an edge. âIâve heard a lot about you.â
Adaâs brow arched. âAll good things, I hope.â
You smiled.
âDepends.â
Leon sighed. âPlease donât do this right nowââ
âDo what?â you cut in, still smiling as you looked Ada up and down. âIâm just meeting an old⊠friend.â
Ada chuckled softly. âCareful, Leon. Sheâs got a bite.â
âOh, I know,â Leon muttered.
You shifted your stance slightly, one hand still resting protectively on your belly. âSo youâre the one always popping in and out of his missions.â
âAnd youâre the one he runs home to,â Ada replied smoothly.
There was a pause.
Tension thick.
Thenâ
You let out a soft hum. âGood. Just making sure weâre clear.â
Adaâs eyes flickered with amusement. âCrystal.â
Another explosion rocked the building, snapping all three of you back to reality.
Leon cursed. âWe need to move. Now.â
You were already reloading. âLead the way.â
He hesitated, looking at you againâreally looking this time.
At your steady stance.
Your unwavering expression.
The life you carried.
ââŠStay close to me,â he said firmly.
You smirked. âAlways do.â
As the three of you moved through the chaos, Leon stayed just a little closer to you than necessary, his hand brushing yours whenever he could.
And every time Ada got a little too closeâ
Your grip on your weapon tightened just a bit more.
Because yeah⊠you trusted Leon.
But that didnât mean you werenât watching her.
The hallway narrowed as the three of you moved deeper into the facility, flickering lights casting long shadows across the walls. The air smelled like smoke and metalâthick, suffocating.
Leon stayed just slightly ahead of you now, his movements sharper, more alert. But every few steps, he glanced backâchecking on you.
Always checking on you.
You noticed.
And so did Ada.
âCareful, Leon,â Adaâs voice purred from behind, heels clicking softly against the floor despite the chaos around you. âYouâre going to wear a hole in her if you keep staring like that.â
You rolled your eyes. âHeâs making sure his wife is okay.â
Ada hummed. âOf course.â
The way she said itâlight, but laced with something elseâhad your patience thinning.
A door ahead jammed, forcing the three of you to stop. Leon moved to override the panel, muttering under his breath.
Which left you and Ada⊠alone for just a second too long.
Her gaze drifted over you slowlyâdeliberately.
From your faceâŠ
Down to your suit.
That sleek, all-black tactical fit hugged every curve, reinforced at the seams but still flexibleâfunctional and deadly. The utility belt sat perfectly against your hips, holsters secured, weapons within reach. Even your heelsâmodified for combatâclicked with confidence instead of hesitation.
And then her eyes dropped to your belly.
A faint smirk tugged at her lips.
âYou knowâŠâ Ada stepped a little closer, voice smooth as silk, âmost women would sit missions out in your condition.â
You didnât move.
Didnât blink.
âMost women arenât me.â
Her smirk widened slightly. âClearly.â
There was a pause. Tension stretched thin.
âAnd yet,â Ada continued casually, âhere you are⊠risking everything.â Her gaze flicked up to meet yours. âFor a man who has a habit of working with⊠complicated partners.â
Ah.
There it was.
You let out a soft, amused breath.
âOh, you mean you?â
Ada tilted her head, unbothered. âIf the shoe fits.â
You took one step forward.
Then another.
Until you were right in front of her.
Close enough that she could feel the heat of your presence.
Close enough that your voice droppedâlow, controlled, and sharp.
âLet me make something very clear.â
Adaâs eyes narrowed slightly, but she didnât step back.
Good.
You liked that.
Your hand rested on your hip, fingers brushing against the grip of your weaponânot threatening⊠just a reminder.
âI know exactly who you are,â you continued. âI know how you move. How you talk. How you like to play in the gray.â
Adaâs lips twitched, almost impressed.
âBut me?â you added softly. âIâm not one of your little games.â
Silence.
Heavy.
âYou might show up when things get messy,â you went on, your voice unwavering, âbut at the end of the day?â
You leaned in just slightly.
âHe comes home to me.â
Ada held your gaze.
For a moment⊠neither of you blinked.
Thenâ
A small chuckle slipped past her lips.
ââŠI can see why he married you.â
You straightened, smoothing your suit like the conversation hadnât even phased you.
âAnd I can see why he didnât marry you.â
That one landed.
Adaâs smile didnât disappearâbut it sharpened.
Before she could respondâ
âDoorâs open,â Leon called, completely unaware of the verbal war that had just taken place.
You stepped back first, calm and composed like always. âTook you long enough.â
Leon glanced between the two of you, suspicion flickering in his eyes. ââŠEverything okay?â
You smiled sweetly. âPerfect.â
Ada walked past him next, brushing his shoulder lightly as she moved ahead.
âOh, everythingâs fine,â she echoed.
Leon frowned slightly.
Yeah⊠he didnât believe that for a second.
â
The next room erupted into chaos almost immediatelyâinfected flooding in from every direction.
Gunfire rang out.
You moved on instinct.
Precise. Controlled. Deadly.
Even with the added weight, you flowed through the fight like it was second natureâdodging, shooting, reloading with flawless efficiency. Your heels hit the ground with sharp, confident clicks as you pivoted, taking down targets one by one.
Leon watched you for half a second too longâ
âLeon!â you snapped.
âRightâ!â
He refocused, covering your blind spot instantly.
But Ada?
Ada was watching you now.
Really watching you.
The way you moved.
The way Leon stayed glued to your side without even thinking.
The way his voice changed when he spoke to youâ
âBehind you!â
âsharper, more urgent.
Because it wasnât just about a partner.
It was about you.
And it showed.
The last infected dropped with a heavy thud.
Silence followedâbroken only by your steady breathing.
Leon immediately turned to you, hands hovering like he didnât know where to check first. âYou okay? Did you get hit?â
You smirked faintly. âRelax. Iâm good.â
His jaw tightened. âYou shouldnât be doing this.â
âAnd yet,â you teased softly, âhere I am. Saving you again.â
He huffed, but his hand slid over yours for a brief secondâgrounding, reassuring.
Possessive.
Ada noticed that too.
Of course she did.
You glanced over at her, catching her gaze.
And this timeâ
You didnât say a word.
You didnât have to.
Because everything that needed to be said?
Was already proven.
