hi everyone! i’m out of school now but i’ve had to stay off this blog to make sure that i study for my finals. i had my pre-calc one a few days ago, and my last one will be next week. wish me luck :9 i’ll be much more active after that!
❤ Usagi did not hear the cheers, continuing to help her friends against the demon. Soon, all of the girls began to combine their attacks, soon shooting the demon down and Usagi landing the finishing blow. As the girls landed and smiled at each other, they began to walk and transformed into their normal clothes. ❤ ♡ As Usagi turned around, she noticed Connie and turned pale. Complete deer in the headlights moment. ♡
“I-I’m sorry!” Connie choked out, suddenly feeling awkward at having eavesdropped on something that was nothing to do with her. Usagi had some exciting double life, and what did she have? Tennis practice. “You... ran away so quickly, I went looking for you and found you and your friends. Do you want me just to totally forget this ever happened?”
💧 —- Lapis fully understood that everything she had done upon her release was wrong. She hurt people, and her desperation to get home could have meant to death of her friend and this innocent girl, not to mention possibly the death of their entire planet. “ If I’d just been a little stronger, ” she whimpered, rubbing at her eyes. “ My gem was cracked and if I’d just fought a little harder I could have stopped myself from doing all those horrible things. Why didn’t I–…? ” ( I was just so tired of fighting… )
Her form shifted, legs straightening out, and she hesitantly brought herself just a little closer to the human child. “ I… I remember everything I did. I remember doing it. It never stops replaying in my mind. If Steven hadn’t been so nice to me, if he hadn’t fought to help me… he’s the only reason you’re not dead. And I’m so sorry… almost killing him, the only person who’d bee nice to me in six hundred years, that was bad enough, but you – you didn’t even have anything to do with it… ”
More tears fell onto the sand, and her fingers twitched. She wanted to reach out, to grab the girl’s hand and apologize for everything, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She’d already lost control of herself once; things could end up much worse if it happened again. “ Nobody wants to be hated, ” she sighed, instead bringing her hand up to her face and covering her eyes. “ But what I did… I mean… if somebody did that to me, to my home, if – if somebody almost killed me, I’d hate them. You should all hate me, when somebody hurts you that bad and almost kills you, you’re RIGHT to hate them. I – I just don’t understand. Everything I did was so bad and I was WRONG… but you and Steven, and even the other Gems… still don’t hate me… even after all those awful things I did… I just don’t get it. ”
Blue locks swayed as she shook her head; the tears had slowed down, but they still hadn’t stopped. “ I just wanted to go home after being here, alone and afraid, for so long. I never meant to hurt anybody… but I did… and nothing I ever do can make it so that it never happened… ”
“Steven... he’s like that for me too. He was my first friend, and one of my best friends now. I’ve hurt him too, gotten angry at him. I’ve done bad things to him that I didn’t think he should forgive me for. It wasn’t as large scale as what you did, of course, but it still felt heavy and unforgivable to me.”
With Lapis showing an intimate side of herself, it was easier for Connie to begin speaking. People in books always said the right thing, just the exact phrase the person needed to hear. Connie knew she couldn’t do that, she wasn’t sure what Lapis needed or if anyone had even done something as heavy as Lapid had. What would Steven do if he was here? Wasn’t his Mother the one who saw the good in everything, even in gross moss?
“Even if you’ve hurt many people, Steven will always forgive you. It’s just the way he is. He... he would never say that someone is so bad that they can’t ever be good again. ”
Lapis’ seemed to be shaking, and this time, holding her breath, she took a hold of Lapis’ hand. Squeezing on it, she could feel the tension building up in the young girl, and the sobs that racked her body. Wasn’t Lapis in just the same position as her? Lapis had been wronged by someone at some point, and unlike what had happened to Beach City, she had paid for it and suffered for hundreds of years.
“You hate the people that put you in the mirror, don’t you? Is what they did to you so horrible that you could never forgive them even if they were sorry? Even if they had some sort of hypothetical reason? You had the right to be angry... at least I think so. The people you hurt have the right too, but it doesn’t mean that they have to use that right, or won’t be able to forgive you. Maybe you could forgive yourself too, eventually.”
❤ When Usagi arrived at the scene, she rushed over, standing between her friends and the demon. She narrowed her eyes and began to say her famous catchphrase. However, she was backhanded into a wall and she growled, slowly pulling herself free. ❤ “Well, you certainly aren’t the most cheerful guy I’ve fought. Don’t worry, though, you’ll fall like they all do.”
Clasping her hands together, she glanced at amazement at her friend. Just a few minutes ago, she hadn’t even been able to hit a tennis ball without hitting herself in the head. Somehow now she couldn’t see that side of her. She was so... cool! She even had friends she fought with, just like in the novels she read. Blushing and admiring everything from her outfit to her imperviousness to attacks, she cheered her on. “You can do it, Usagi!” She whispered, unsure if it 100% her or not.

He said with desperation in his voice.
There wasn’t much time left for her
to escape. If she waited any longer,
they’d both end up hurt – or worse.
And as soon as that realization hit
him, their time was up.
The gem-like creature lunged at them,
and Steven acted without thinking,
jumping on top of Connie to protect
her. He squeezed his eyes shut and
waited to take the full brunt of the attack;
which was delivered to him soon after.
He was thrown off of Connie and was
slammed into a rock that was near the
ocean side. There was a sickening
crack and a thud as he fell to the ground.
“Steven... No...” Tears brimmed her eyes. Was this her fault for not leaving? He had protected her. Why hadn’t he been able to use his shield? The crack against the rock left a sickening feeling in her stomach, as fury began to boil up. “Get out of here! Leave us alone!” She screamed, enraged as she picked up rocks and threw them at the monster while waving her hands wildly. She wished she was bigger, scarier, some kind of strong protagonist that had magic that could destroy the monsters. Connie rushed over to Steven, hoping she had managed to hit the monster’s gem, or just scare it away. “Are you okay? Steven, can you hear me?” She didn’t have the medical knowledge of her Mother, and the gem smarts of Pearl, Garnet, or Amethyst, but Steven was her one friend; her best friend.
Date at the Beach
“Maybe we could again then! It was… really fun. Since school’s out for the summer, there won’t be any more dances for a while!” Why was Steven blushing? His nervousness was starting to rub off on her as she played with her fingers. She kept glancing over to him. Ordering a donut, she chewed it politely and hopes Lars and Sadie wouldn’t mention anything.
“Yeah, w-we should.” Steven began eating the doughnut he ordered. { Darn it, I’m stuttering again! }
“You sure you’re not nervous about something? Do you have a fever? That’s your favorite kind of donut!” Walking out of the Big Donut, she held a hand to his forehead, a bit concerned. Steven wasn’t usually so quiet. He loved to be loud and make lots of jokes. “You do feel kind of warm!” Connie concluded.
The side of his mouth turned up into a smile when she began to slap his hand excitedly and used his other hand to pat her on the back. “You’re making some really spaced out jams.” he praised, when it came to teaching music he was the type to give as much support and praise as possible. All music music was amazing to him and to see beginners give up because someone wasn’t supportive of them hurt him a little. “Really? Well music’s one of the best gifts you can give.” he replied looking to the speakers a second. He looked back to her frowning a moment before giving her a reassuring smile. “You’re doing great, Connie. You’re making a living thing right now, even if it’s not your strong suite be proud. Because who else can say they build living things out of electronics?”
Connie’s eyes lit up at all the praise, and just feeding off of Sourcream’s passion for music. When she was Stevonnie, dancing with Steven, hadn’t his music seemed alive? Hers was different, more amateurish, but with pieces standing out as actually good. Turning over the gameboys in her hand, she pressed a few buttons, studying its appearance. “The game consoles you use seem to be pretty old. Like when those old DVD things were still popular. Did you start music when you were my age?”
Complicated Feelings
Connie was for real fighting next to the Crystal Gems. Her whole body felt invigorated as she jumped into the air, shouting for Lion. His attack only seemed to split the water creatures in two, though. “This… This isn’t working, Lapis. We have to do something else! Talk to him, use your shield, something!” She cried out desperately as she threw a rock.
“I cant, he won’t listen to me, and I can only control water!” Lapis shouted as she tried to use something to fight her bubble clone. Then Lion was thrown from the Lapis clone and against Greg’s van. “Oh no, not the van!” Rose responded as well. “Lion!”
Connie watched as the van took a big hit, making a large dent. Hurting people... damaging property... Why was he doing all this? Her rock attacks were practically useless. She wanted to do something, to feel useful for once. “I have to go up and see him.” Connie whispered. Running as fast as her feet could carry her, she called out. “Steven! I’m coming up! I’m just a human, please don’t kill me.” Though she was scared, she knew this was something she had to do.
“Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up!” ❤ She began to twirl around, her clothes appearing around her body. When she finished, she began to jump off, knowing that people needed her help. She jumped past Connie, moving quickly to where the monster had attacked civilians. ❤
“Usagi, is that really you?” She called out, dropping her racket and trying to follow her. She was almost used to magic now that she had been so accustomed to it from Steven. Usagi didn’t seem like a gem, though she did have one on her forehead. Was she some kind of magic magnet? Standing off the side, she looked around and spotted some people being attacked. Was that why she had left so suddenly?

This must have been the human The Steven had been telling her would show up, no other humans set foot near the area of the beach that housed the temple. “The Steven and the Crystal Gems have gone out, however The Steven wished for me to inform you that he will return momentarily to ‘hang out’.”
“Oh, really? Thanks for letting me know!” Hadn’t she told Steven she felt weird being at his house when he wasn’t there? Rubbing her arm awkwardly, she mulled over the idea of staying and waiting. The gems weren’t home either. Well, except this one. “Sorry, I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before. Are you a new gem...? I’m Connie.” She offered shyly as an introduction.
An Angel Came to Beach City (closed RP with conniemaheswarann)
A Monoeye lurking around the beach felt much relief. It believed it had escaped the arrows of an angel hunting it down. As it flew around a rock, the Monoeye spotted a young human girl. Following its order the monster quickly flew in front of the girl and prepared to fire a beam of dark power.
Connie let out a surprised gasp, glancing up from the book she was reading. A giant eyeball? Hadn’t she seem one of those slowly approaching her city at some point? That probably wasn’t good. Dropping what she was holding, she tried to dive out of the way to avoid it’s attack.
“I tend to go to the arcade and hang out with my other friends. They’d love to meet yo-” ❤ Soon, Usagi’s broach lit up and she rushed over. She gasped, putting it on and quickly rushing out. She moved to an open area to transform, hoping Connie didn’t follow her. ❤
Pausing for a moment, Connie mulled it over in her mind. Meeting other people? Would she come off as bookish or weird? “Huh?” Suddenly coming back to the real world, she realized Usagi was gone. Had she suddenly got a really important text or phone call? Hearing something from just in the distance, she rushed over, a little concerned. “Usagi...?”

“Yeah? I get attacked by monsters all the time, it’s pretty easy to get rid of them.” Star tilted her head a little, blinking. “It’s pretty normal.” Following the other girl with her eyes, the young princess shifted slightly. Sure, she was…pretty used to attention, but this was different, in a way.
“Ah, sorry! I didn’t mean to make you feel... weird about it. It was incredible!” Covering her eyes as if to say ‘I didn’t see anything’, Connie couldn’t help but grin. “If you don’t mind me asking... what kind of monsters were those? Did you get rid of them with that wand? I-I’ve never seen anything like it.” Peaking out from her fingers, she couldn’t help but let out a babble of curious questions.
❤ She nodded happily, beginning to get ready to serve. When she hit it to the other, the two began to play tennis together. Usagi seemed to love doing this, smiling widely as the two continued to play. Even when she lost, she smiled happily, congratulating the other on how well she played. It truly seemed like she was having a lot of fun. ❤
Connie laughed as she dove in an attempt to hit the ball. “You’re already getting really good!” She cheered, breathless now. Somehow exercising made it easier for her to speak, and definitely less nervous. “What kind of things do you do for fun? Tennis and reading is pretty much all I do.”

Onion’s nice from what I’ve seen! He helped Steven and I out of a bubble once, but on second thought it was kind of funny how willing he was to use a harpoon on us. Another time I kept finding a bunch of Range Guy action figures around the house? Steven said it had something to do with him.
