My favourite genre of Tumblr post is when someone makes up a clearly exaggerated character for a piece of media they don’t consume in order to make an exaggerated point about the show and/or its fans, only for fans to inform them that the character exists and they got the name wrong.

Like the person talking about who Supernatural doesn’t know how to deescalate and hypothesising that next season we’ll meet Satan’s brother Jeff who is EVEN EVILLER although we’ve never heard of him until now, only to be told his name is Mettatron.

Or the person who talked about Magnus Archives fans being like “good old Matt the Bone Stealer he’s so fucked up and evil I love him” and was informed that his name is Jared.

We need more of those posts.
