Like yes, let’s lean into the toxic vibes! Honestly songs about fucked up dynamics are more fun to listen to sometimes

I’m sorry I’ve been busy, but this is my first draft of my Loki Series rewrite, replacing/merging Sylvie w/ Sigyn
💚💚💚
Some TVA! Sigyn and Loki adventure times
Sigyn Appreciation Week
Day 4- Favorite Fancast/FC
For my Sigyn, I use Sophia Myles, mostly from her work in Tristan and Isolde and Outlander
I also really like Rebecca Ferguson, from the White Queen
or Nathalie Emmanuel ( Missandei in Game of Thrones)
Some Sigyn and Sylvie solidarity for you
Hel –> Death and the afterlife
Sigyn –> Fidelity and bonds

Sketched the boy for the first time in a great while. <3 May color it. Graphite and chalk on toned paper.
I was today years old when I learned that Sophia Miles, my Sigyn FC, has previously worked with Our Boy Tom in Nicolas Nickleby way back in the ancient time of the year 2000.
Tonight i just have a lot of thoughts/feelings about the state of media in general and the overall lack of romance and sensuality in Hollywood today.
This, in turn, strengthens my opinions about how Sigyn in general , but esp in our Loki series threads, needs to be soft and feminine in her physicality/appearance. Also, I want to write her dynamic with Loki as genuine attraction with strong, physical, sensual desire as a key part of their dynamic.
(This was a major thing missing with the dynamic with Sylvie- because their dynamic works better as a platonic bond rather than a romantic/sexual bond)
Also- if I ever had the opportunity to pitch this season 2 concept to Kevin Feige himself, I’d say that above all: Loki and Sigyn have to fuck. For goodness sake let us have a genuine romantic sex scene in a MCU property. It doesn’t have to be a gratuitous, overly graphic scene a la Game of Thrones, but just a simple love scene like we used to see in the PG 13 films of yore.

“You don’t KNOW what you’re TALKING ABOUT!”
She throws her entire diaphragm into the scream, so harsh it squeezes her ribs and feels like she’s punctured her own guts, harder even than the tight reeking armor she’s worn her entire adult life.
She flies in the face of this woman who is all she wishes she had the luxury to be: full, voluptuous, soft, gentle, feminine.
“You don’t FUCKING KNOW!”
Sigyn stood still yet tall in face of Sylvie’s fury, like a pillar of stone set within a raging river. Though it threatened to engulf her, she refused to be dragged down and over-run by this woman’s seemingly limitless rage. In the short time since they met, she had had quite enough of it, to be frank.
“This may come as a shock to you, but you were not the only one here who had their life fucking destroyed.”
Her own anger brewed slowly in the pit of her stomach, smoldering outwards through her limbs, until she could feel her fists clench- her fingernails digging painfully into the flesh of her palms. Her voice, however, remained deathly soft- a quiet, yet stern warning.
“So don’t you dare presume what I do not know.”

The she-wolf doesn’t yield.
“Did he send you? Did he send you as a tool, to soften me up? To appeal to my better nature by…by reminding me of our shared suffering?”
Being venomous takes more energy than she had anticipated. This creature is nonresponsive, stoic and solid, and something about her refusal to engage is bizarrely calming.
Sylvie squirms. She circles Sigyn widely, gauging whether to even address the competition of hardships brought up as justification for the other woman’s investment in this encounter. No. Fruitless.
“I don’t claim anything of the sort,” the enchantress nevertheless clarifies. “I wouldn’t deny your suffering. Or B-15′s. Or that of….any other of our fellow variants. But there are still things someone like you can’t understand, when it comes to Loki. You’re young, and you inhabit the form that you inhabit freely, with confidence. So why. Are you. Here?”
A pause, then, with one unconscious step toward Sigyn,
“Is he alright?”
“If we could leave my assumedly youthful form out of this, I’d appreciate it,” Sigyn said curtly, the embarrassment of Sylvie’s intrusion on her and Loki in the early hours still fresh- the soft heat on her cheeks betraying her otherwise collected exterior.
“Loki hasn’t sent me- he would know better.” Sigyn continued. Her gaze fell to the ground beneath her, her weight shifting slightly from side to side.
“But he is still upset about this morning. I thought I could at least ask you to consider talking with him.”

soooo . . . . about that confession post
At the risk of popping off a spicy hot-take, I personally think that while the confession is reeking of misogyny and misguided contempt, there are aspects that statement that aren’t entirely wrong (though most of it is! just, stay with me here)
Is Sigyn an OC? - No, she is not. She has been Loki’s canon wife for centuries before Marvel Comics even existed. Die mad.
Is there an element of self-insertion in the Sigyn fandom? Probably- but it’s hardly alone in that aspect.
There is a great variety of ways that fans interpret Sigyn’s character precisely because so little information is known about her and she only really appears in one myth. That myth is the foundation for Sigyn’s character, but there is still a lot of room to play around with how the concepts of constancy, fidelity, and loyalty are explored with her arc and characterization. A lot of people will fill those gaps with their own ideas, ideas that are heavily influenced by our own biases and life experiences. Sometimes this is deliberate, but most of the time, it is unconscious.
But here’s the thing: using fictional characters as a means to explore ourselves is one of the functions of fictional narratives in general. This is not unique to the Sigyn fandom at all. All fandoms, especially all shipping fandoms do this. (I am willing to bet that one of the reasons why Loki fans are so divided about Lokius vs. Sylki is because of which character they personally identify with more: Mobius or Sylvie)
Identifying with fictional characters, seeing ourselves reflected in the art we create and engage with is normal. It’s also deeply personal. Often the elements we put into characters can touch on deeply vulnerable parts of ourselves that we only feel safe expressing in fiction- which why seeing a post which not only calls out a frankly taboo subject (I have never seen self-insert characters talked about in a way that wasn’t intensely negative), but does so in an uncharitable, non-compassionate way- can provoke intense hurt, anger, and defensiveness.
So, to all my fellow Sigyn fans- you are allowed to engage with this character however you want. You are allowed to put in as much or as little of yourself into her as you want. There are thousands of ways to explore this character and no one gets to define what she means to you.
Haters can get fucked.
